Yeah, being a 2002, she's got solid wings. Really nice bass. Needs a little love, as one might expect for a ten year old bass without a hard finish. Gonna clean her, and her sisters up, then post pics, do a cupla threads on selected members of my family.

Spector story teaser: a while back, there was a zebop 5 posted for sale with a "bad neck". The short version is this: after much negotiation, I bought it, for a song. Should be at my house today. Have not seen it in person yet. Gonna do a "repair" thread about it.

Hey guys. I know delucajohn2000 has posted this in the past, but thought you might like to hear some feedback on the Jammit app. I downloaded all of the Pantera VDOP, including Piss, and it was one of the best music training related investments I've made in a long time. You can isolate Rex's bass and be blown away by the tone and brilliance of his playing and mix in the band at a level of your choice. It gives you tab or notation with a line showing exactly where you should be at all times. You can even mix out the bass and jam along. Incredible! I played more with a pick last night than I have in years.

The best part is Queensryche is coming soon. The entire Empire record. Interesting that the only two complete records they will have are Pantera and Queensryche. Apparently we are not the only Spector tone crazed people on the planet. :bassist:

I've been using the M80 that I got off Donny for a while now. I really like it, the EQ is voiced really well, and it's pretty usable. The distortion channel sounds pretty good too, and the clean blend is really useful.
It can't really cop that sansamp growl though (from what I've gathered, I've never had one to compare). It has it's own vibe, and I've used it live and to record, but if you want that nice grit, a sansamp is probably more your speed.
One thing to consider is that with a sansamp, that characteristic sound is always there. When I was doing research on the pedals, most people seemed to like the MXR because it didn't have that characteristic color to it.
I do want to get a sansamp paradriver at some point (pedal form of the RBI), just because it's got a different flavor, but for now, the MXR suits me fine. All depends on what you want tonally. Like John said, it really is just personal preference.

Thanks cj! I wish there was a music store close by that I could each one, but I'll just buy one, try it out, if I don't like it sell it. Jaymi uses the Sansamp BDDI for studio sessions and I love all of his sounds so far. :bassist: And probably depends on the music that you play.

That is the great thing about the app....being able to actually mute the bass. I do that with a lot of the "non-Spector" tracks to hear how much better the master could have sounded.

ya I used a sansamp PSA in the studio... it definitely is the go to. but I really did like the MXR M80. I just don't need it with my GK heads.

These are the results of my CRFM Refinish from gloss to satin. I sanded down the bass to make it rough, then sprayed Colortone Aerosol Satin over it. I did about 4 coats on body and 5 on back of neck with one can.

That's awesome. Just listening to the samples gave me the chills. I'm curious though, how did the smadder setup sit in the mix for you?

If anyone is interested... My band is performing tonight and it looks like there will be a live video stream (or at least Audio) of our show.
This is the link, I believe it will be under Friday Rock show at the Tunnel... I haven't received a direct link yet. :bassist: :bassist:

I'll be using my Forte with the HAZ and my new Ampeg svt 410hlf! :bassist: :bassist:

Edit:
Apparently I forgot the link:

That was a weird thread, I don't think the guy answered any PM's, not mine at least. It was like he fell off a cliff and disappeared. I wanted it to make a fretless.

just won a $726 synth pedal on ebay but pay pal converted this payment to $770!!! why the hell am I supposed to pay more than the item cost??? paypal's bloody raskals....( disapointed.

Shipping?
Up to the minute currency exchange rate conversion?
Ask the seller some questions. BTW, $726 is a hefty price for a synth pedal - what exactly is it?

ya its most likely this ^ email Paypal about it, they are good about getting back to people.

that's Akai Deep Impact. and it's not because of the shipment cause it already there. it's their particular current rate conversion - may be, but my account is $$$, so why the hell they convert dollars to roubles and then back to dollars!?
