So is this the one that is in the US basses and costs around $350? I bought this bass from Bob at The Bass Palace. I've known him forever and saw that he was back in business and had this bass available so I bought it. I doubt he checked the pre to see what model it was....

At the time I thought I may have paid a little too much...I feel much better now.

it is about 800-900 used in clean shape....you got a deal if you paid around that much...they don't come with the preamp, that is 400 extra

Bob sold it to me for $950 shipped....I think I did okay now that I know what pre is in it...

For 500-800 bux, you are well into the used/clean rebop, or even lucky find on a euro 5 range. Both of those would arguably be "miles ahead" of a legend. I'd also be on the lookout for an older, korean neck thru, either the NS95, or the NS2000. These can be had, all day long, for under 500 bucks. One of my NS2000s gives my euro a run for its money, at about 1/3 the cost. Just putting options out there. The legend 5 is a nice bass, can be had used for around 300

hey. the legends not bad there is an ns-95 used on sam ash that is for $549. wonderful bass. i used to have one but i have an ns-94 now and its my main axe. good luck.

And how does this compare to the Sansamp BDDI pedal box?

I have used both and ended up keeping the Sansamp. I like the range of tones I could get as compared to the single distortion tone I got form the MXR. The MXR is great - quiet, rugged, and lots of options and controls (and less expensive), but it doesn't have the broad range of tones that the Sansamp does (to my ears).

Ice, if you are still looking for one, I have the 3 button programmable model (the middle one) I'd be willing to let go of it for $150 plus $10 shipping and I'll cover the rest. They cost $209 new.

i have one mike. cant compare to the sansamp, but youtube some vids on it. it sounds pretty good. i like it. there's one vid where they a/b with an aguilar tonehammer and i think the tone hammer sounds good. here. i'll help
