Been through hz's, p/j and DC. Variations in mine with 2 pumps and a haz copy. Sounds pretty good, but in the same zip code as the dougie.

I probably bought 40 new ones through the years but now I keep an eye open for a nice used one, having a scratch or ding here or there does not bother me like it once did.

Great deals on used gear are great, but when there's something you gotta have, new is the way. Both work for me.

Nothing wrong with those. Back in the day it was a choice of either a US ns2 or an NS2a only. Lots of guys played ns2a's and spector got flack from other mfr's because the 2a's were considered too good for the price point, and too close to the US basses. Its a really great bass, play it with pride, it will serve you well.

Yeah I'll be buying used for awhile after the Coda...mainly as a refinishing hobby.
My oldest son was living there in Mesa, Az. but just moved back to Michigan. I was going to look you up when we went for a visit. Oh well...my wife and I are planning a trip to see the Grand Canyons. Maybe see you then! I'd love to catch one of your gigs!

That Legend has a brass nut and the 3 band pre amp... I think you would be happy with it... plus it is gorgeous... I've thought about picking it up too... but need to save some cash for the band stuff :bassist:

The only spector I had that acted weird to being down tuned (drop C#) was my JAR. Johnny April from Staind uses a Legend 5 90% of the time and they down tune.

I use a CRFM and a Rex4 Pro and have used a EuroLX and NS2A all down tuned and all handled it great.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. I should have some pics by next week. My rig will know consist of Spector NS2A/Spector legend 5 > GK 2001RBP > Carvin HD1500 > fEARful 12/6-15/sub. Now too bad my new job is swing shift for a while so gigs will be out. But I can bet my neighbors will hear it!
