Hey Spectorphiles, on an unrelated topic. I spoke to PJ Rubal this morning. What a gracious dude. I have always heard what a nice person he is. I can confirm. He spoke to me at length, about all things Spector. It was like a condensed Spector history. Absolutely fantastic. Specifically however, I wanted to pass along that, although not listed, the USA bridge is available in black. As seen on the Forte basses. Same price as the gold.

The Ian has a slightly thinner neck (front to back)
The nut size is the same at 1.61

From the measurement Specs that JPS posted a while back.
Std Euro4LX is 0.9 at 1st fret & 0.86 at 12th fret
Ian Hill is 0.83 at 1st fret & 0.85 at 12th fret

Exactly. It's a little thinner (not Alex Webster thin, but thinner) and a little flatter especially in the low register. It's super comfy.

Cool! I didn't know that about the black brass bridges. Thanks Bassie. And you're right about PJ - he's the nicest guy I've ever dealt with from any manufacturer ever in my 25 years of playing almost every instrument out there.

This is the preamp that came in my JAR. I thought they came stock with a BT. What do I have here?

That's cool! Yes, PJ is awesome up straight guy to talk with! I've enjoyed conversing with him on a couple of occasions. He never makes you feel like he needs to go because of a thousand things to get done. He'll talk with you as long as you like. Remarkable man!

That, my friend, is a 9v Haz pre Where did you get that bass?

So is this the one that is in the US basses and costs around $350? I bought this bass from Bob at The Bass Palace. I've known him forever and saw that he was back in business and had this bass available so I bought it. I doubt he checked the pre to see what model it was....

At the time I thought I may have paid a little too much...I feel much better now.

Thanks!

Jeff
