Here we go:

The second "Amazon bass" that I'm keeping for now (the other being the white JA-R). This is taking the place of the Forte 5 which is getting traded even-Steven next month for a Forte 4. Why do you ask? Well, because this Euro 5 LX in satin black matte with a quilt maple top, EMG 40DC pickups and an EMG BQC system preamp running at 9v weighs only 9.1 pounds instead of 11.2 and has a perfect D neck profile that's almost exactly like the Alex Webster profile rather than the C profile of the Forte 5 which I just can't handle.

It sounds awesome, has one of those quilt tops that looks different from every angle, which is really cool. I realize a flamed top would actually be more of a faux Forte, but we take what we can get when we're on the barter system boys and girls, we take what we can get. A $1,998 bass for much less than its equivalent in work that I did is a perfect thing. And so is the tone of this bass. Buttery and the BQC I think may officially be taking the place of the BTC/EXB smadder set up preamp combo. Once you get used to dialing the mids, you can get a wide range of sweet spots, from a close emulation of the USA Spector circuits, to the BTC/EXB smadder set up, to just about anything you want. I can't sing the praises of EMG enough. They have great game and sound better in Spectors than anywhere else.

I spoke with JoAnn who works in the Woodstock shop about this last month.
The 9V USA circuits are almost always on a 30 day back order.
They get shipments monthly and they fill the back orders regularly.
Her suggestion was to get the order in and then you are on the list to get one.

As bassgiant mentioned, they use these to for the current NS-2's in production as well as separate customer orders.

The amazing thing about these circuits,
the same "one guy" at Haz Labs
makes them now as did throughout the years.

Seventhframe ordered one not too long ago and he it took about 3 weeks for him to receive it.

Trust me, it is worth the wait and money. You will love it.

The install cost I would also guess is around $50-$60.

I want a Spector with a HAZ pre so bad! Jaymi got me hooked with that NS-2J that he sent to Lee!

Maybe the next year I can afford to snag an NS-2!!!

I know this has come up before but is anyone running the HAZ in a Forte? Thoughts? I'm just curious what the differences are between that and the stock OBP pre.

You're telling me! I'm a Spector newbie and even I want to put one in my Euro. it's all Jaymi, Sam and Omer's fault really.

My CRFM is becoming my favorite bass. The neck, the balance, it just feels right. The flames are actually much nicer in person than those pics GC sent you a while back. This has some nice maple wings. Now the US 9v will make it complete!

Gotta start selling some things.

I may be selling/trading my Rex in the near future.... I just need me some NS love... I've fought really hard to make the Rex my go to bass, but the CRFM just feels right... little to no work to dial in my tone.... Maybe I should pick up another NS2A or start saving for a wimbish.....

So the guy who was going to trade me his Forte 4 for my Forte 5? Just backed out.

Chuckles (WilsonMusic) has first dibs and is going to know by Thursday evening whether or not he can do it (gotta give the man a little time - he's still pretty banged up from the car wreck) but if anyone else in the Spector club is interested, I will sell it to you for $1550 which is exactly what I paid for it from GC ($1499) plus 1/2 of the shipping costs (it'll be over $100). Comes in a new Spector hard case. It also has the smadder setup in the back consisting of EMGs BTC system and the EXB circuit instead of the OBP-2. That's a $130 upgrade at no extra charge. It's strung with Sadowsky black label steels.

If you are interested in it, please PM me and I will start a list of folks who are interested if Chuckles doesn't take it and I will let you know sometime Thursday evening as to what the status is.

Here are some pics. It was used from GC and the only things I could see that made it qualify as such are a very small dent on the underside of the top horn and a long very light scratch on the front of the headstock (looks like someone lost control of a string when they were changing out - could have been the original owner, could have been GC, but it definitely wasn't me. I've barely put 12 hours on it total).

not sure if mine is CRFM or not is is NB1470 serial but it has solid maple wings and not an LX. my guess is it is a 2001 or 02.and even with th e tone pump in it it is awesome.

It's a "Euro4" from 2001-2003.
The best of the Czech's IMHO.
Mine replaced my Kramer NS2 as my #1.
