SPECTOR® Club - Part 46

Hello Spector people,

I know that the new Rebop MM 10th anniversary bass was discussed here when it was announced. But has anyone played one yet? I can't find any comments other than the announcements and speculation thereafter of what it might sound like. Anyone know?

wooow thanks a lot for your short review. btw another question, is it true that legend series including legend 6 are now build in Indonesia?
I reaaallly want to hear your sound clip if it is okay with you ... hahahaha.. thanks a lot!! ;)

finally got around to that demo. I dont have a lot of time during the week because of school and homework, so this was thrown together hastily and the playing's a tad sloppy, both things i apologize for.

I tried to run through as many tones as I could. I've never really done a demo before, so yeah. hope this gives you an idea of how the bass sounds.

Stopped in one of my local pawn shops today and was surprised to see this:

Coda #54
Setup was bad so I couldn't really get a feel.
Neck is surprisingly thick for a J-bass.
They have $1499 on it currently.

what strings did you end up getting for it. those sadowsky strings smadder put on were killer.

ps. I'm not gonna change these rounds on your old pre EB ray any time soon. I have taken every bit of life out of them. I'm not a flat wound guy but dead strings on a two band ray are a wonderful sound.

Fodera Diamond 40-120's. Trying something different but I LOVE these on my Modulus Q5.

In any case, the Sadowskys are killer (but getting dull as I am playing the SpecTor a lot) and I will never use a B string on a 35" scale larger than a .125 ever again (ideally .120).

You and Smadder got me hooked on light strings in any case!:hyper:

Nice find for a pawn shop. Its hard to get excited about a bass that isnt setup properly.
Today I went in a cool music store and they had a eruo 5lx. It had a terrible setup on it. I'd like to set it up right a see what it can do. I can't imagine anyone buying a bass the played as bad as that one.

It's weird, every Euro I've ever played (which is not very many) seemed like it was out of wack. Must be a curse since I'm the NS2a guy.

That bass belongs to PJ Rubal and Spector. It was sent for an artist demo.

It is a one-off custom build. So why/how it has ended up pawned is a mystery to me.

I've got a call into PJ to find out if perhaps he sold it to the artist (who then pawned it) but if not... I'll need that info so PJ can contact the Pawnshop owner.

The last thing I was told about that bass was that it still belonged to PJ. And the last conversation I had with him about it, he was pondering if I might need to drive to Vegas and get it.

So this has me worried.

I tried to upload these from my computer as I don't have them on a web site. I hope it qualifies me for a Spector Club Number. The bass on the left is a Legend that I Frankensteined with with 2 EMG 35 DC pups and an Aguillar OBP 3 18volt pre amp. The middle bass is a Euro and the bass on the right is a NS2.

Nice multi-spector collection! Your zebrawood Euro is quite fetching.
