I've contacted the pawn shop and the LV Metro Police, Pawn Detail to start the paperwork to see if I can help PJ and Stuart get it back.
We'll see how the wheels of justice turn on this one.
That's a one-off custom build. And PJ wanted it back if possible.

That's a White Eagle Spectrum metal detector behind that stolen Coda, its the Rolls Royce of portable beach prospecting devices. Go back to that pawn shop phatbastard and make you a deal. It'll pay for itself in no time.

I've been thinking this same tube-quilt black gloss stain body with black hardware and an ebony board and black MOP inlays would be killer...

Pawn Shops are awesome that way. I've gotten some awesome camera lenses through the years from pawnshops.
I pickup up a Sekonic 700 Series Cinema light meter for $250. They retail for over $600. Heck of a deal in my book.
We're a little short on beaches here in Vegas.
But I've kind of always wanted one of those.
What would be a good price on that?

I would never even consider putting them on an NS-2 but hey, that is just me. Others may love them but they are just not my thing.

Sorry I have been neither around or very reachable for the past few weeks. I ended up in and out of the hospital with the usual intestinal joy. I didn't have to have any surgery though, which is good, and I'll (hopefully) be able to put it off until either December or January (still debating whether it should get deducted from '12 tax season or '13... when you get to the point where you're having surgery every 6-8 months, you start thinking about things like that, as bizarre and poorly prioritized as it sounds).
It's frustrating for me because after the most recent surgery this past March, I really thought I'd be out of the woods for a while and could really focus on the stuff in my life that's positive: friends, some job offers, lots of music opportunities, even a couple of dates... And I was for a while, but last month I started feeling pretty bad off and on, then it was more on than off, then I got to rack up a sh!tload of medical expenses these past few weeks.
Again.
At this point, I sometimes wonder if I shouldn't just give up on trying to get out of the medical debt. Seriously. I could give them every penny every month for three years and I still wouldn't be out of debt. So now I'm thinking of just sending each debtor $15-$20 a month and just pay it all off between today and the heat death of the universe (slight exaggeration) or when I die, whichever comes first. No matter what, I'll never be completely out of debt (and even if I did, it would be very temporary before the medical bills started coming in again), so it may be time to start approaching it from a different perspective.
I haven't had a whole lot of access to my phone or ipad or computer, so I haven't been able to keep in touch. I don't even want to try catching up on the posts.
But I know I worried some folks, and I apologize for that. I know I probably missed out on a ton of stuff possibly even a Jeff rant (that's said with love, Jeff) or two (did anyone find him an XL2 yet?).
But I apologize to anyone who was trying to get in touch with me. I'll be playing phone and email catch up for a few days so I'll talk at some of you soon.

In instrument news, the white Euro with the Wimbish neck has been returned. It came with some problems: on the painted side of the headstock edge, right under the E and A tuners, there is a grayish smear in the paint. No cleaners or polish will get rid of it, and since it shipped in a foam sleeve (inside a trapezoidal shipping box inside another, larger box that also contained the gig bag) it wasn't discoloration that new basses sometimes get from a case or bag during long shipping times. It's just a fault in the finish itself. Also, the volume of the bridge pickup is half that of the neck pickup, even with both volume controls dimed. I tried changing height and the battery, but to no avail. Last but not least, the strap pins were falling out of the body. It looks like someone drilled a couple of times before getting them properly mounted, and now the holes are starting to strip out. So since this was supposed to be a new bass, I went ahead and returned it. I had to go through a bit of a dance to return it, but given the fact that Beaver is dealing witha whole lot of awful personal crap, I didn't make a stink. Since everyone told me I couldn't just order an Ian Hill in white (despite my liberal sharing of Chris' white Ian Hill), I ordered a Euro LX 4 with an Ian Hill neck profile option and the high-gloss white option for an extra $130. No, it doesn't make sense, but I was so tired of arguing (47 total back and forth emails trying to return the bass) that I just said "fine." It's gonna be a good long wait till I see the right bass in my hands, but it'll be worth it. This is the first time I've ever received a Spector with factory flaws. It was disappointing, but it turns out that the Wimbish neck profile just isn't for me anyway. The volute comes behind the first fret and so I couldn't get used to the weird way my left hand felt when in first position. I also had a problem getting used to the narrow spacing from the 5th fret on down. Also, the profile, while slim, is also a bit too rounded for my tastes. I like the flatter profile of the regular LX or the IH's '87-based neck carve. I know the Wimbish neck works for a lot of people, and I'm not trying to take away from that at all. It just turns out that the 1.645 inch nut spacing and the flatter profile are just right for me.
I did make the leap and ordered the two 18v US circuits for my LX5 and LX4 with DCs. The SSD Czech model will be fixed soon and I have (along with everyone else) a 9v back-ordered that will go in the white bass whenever it gets here in 2013. So I really do feel like I've reached a point where I'm content with my instruments. Anything else at this point would just be gravy. I don't discount that I may see something that totally changes my mind, but for now, I'm cool.

The inlays were designed by famous inlay artist Larry Robinson (author of "Art of the Inlay" and designer of the inlays for the 1,000,000th Martin Guitar).
TRIVIA: Larry Robinson did the inlays for only the first neck, #001. He would supply the inlay templates to Bryan England of "England's Custom Inlay" in Kentucky for the completition of the final 14 necks.
* The Spector select wood vault was opened to purchasers and they could select anything they wanted from the Spector wood stock pile. PJ Rubal searched for 2 years to find the highly figured solid walnut burl wings used in the making of his bass.
** Purchasers had an option of high-gloss, matte, or hand rubbed oil finishes.
*** Purchasers could also stipulate the base fingerboard material placed in the background of the neck. #001 was made with Pau Ferro.

Dude. Right there with you. One back surgery out of the way... of which I had a $2000 out of pocket payment I've set up on monthlies... but I've got two more surgeries to go.
Getting older sucks. Genetics sucks. Pain sucks.
I swear if it wasn't for my basses I'd be a crazy person.
Scratch that. I'd be a crazier person.
I'm just waiting for the day they have a system like in that movie "Repo Men". Where they come to take the parts they've used to fix you up back out if you can't pay for them.
At least we're not there yet.
This has to be my all-time favorite bass - of any brand.

hey everyone, just checking in..... I'm still SAS free We had a great show last Saturday and my CRFM (blackie) killed it. Huge sound lots of attack... I just was really enjoying it. We are headlining another show this upcoming Saturday and I plan on busting out Jade... i need to start playing bigger venues because I'm thinking about laying 2 SVT810s on their side.... I've noticed that with the cab on its side, it sounds a lot "wider". Less of the "column of tone", which has been my only complaint with my SVT810..... although there is a GK 412neo for sale locally I might try to snatch up... I've really been wanting to try one of those. I've heard they are very mid punchy. With a Spector that would be amazing!
I should really head to bed, we had a great practice tonight, man I love plugging my Spectors in ..... tone for days!

I did the same thing when I played SVTs, and I agree with your observations - the 8x10 does project more sonic "width" when played on it's side. It could have something to do with the larger footprint acoustically coupling with the stage.... Not sure, but I know I prefered the tone with the cab on it's side.
I also kept the head off of the cab, on a stand - this seemed to help extend the life of the 6550s, and eased my worries about vibrating the head to death.

Pay them 20 buck a month and forget about it, Warren Buffet doesn't have deep enough pockets for some aliments.
When I was young medical cost were much lower than they are now and Doctors made house calls.
