I can't remember - do we have anyone from Atlanta in here?

I just found it it's 99% confirmed we'll be doing something called the Pathfinder Metalfest in ATL sometime in mid-July. Since we'll likely drive, we will probably try to pick up a show in Tennessee or North Carolina on the same weekend. That would be my first excursion for a show outside of my immediate region since, well...forever. Should be interesting.

I'm in Nashville! ...go straight down I65S thru IN/KY and you'd almost be knocking on my door! :bassist:

Having owned a first gen rockbass and having played the new line of rockbass I am amazed........the fit and finish was incredible.........we all like what we like. I think its no big deal what basses we all play beyond Spector. Loads of us have non spector basses.....people in the club own Warwicks, Sadowskys, Fenders, Modulus, EBMM, Laklands, Alembics etc. I know why some people have beef with Warwick that are staunch Spector supporters. I get it, really I do. Having said that.......why doesn't any company get grief for using a fender designed body? Improved or not? It's still using another design..........maybe its just not that simple? I don't know? I thikn we all play what we play because it feels right to us. I am friends with people that can rock their Squier better than I can play a USA Spector........and they would not trade their instrument for anything...........weird huh?

Ok.......I'm off my soapbox......but.......I just think we all can get along because we do play Spectors and find merit in them. Probably LESS THAN HALF of the people here own nothing but Spector brand basses. But I can't back that up. I like my Spectors, but also like variety. Just because I am married to one woman doesn't mean I need to be married to one bass or brand.....LOL

I fault no one that is brand loyal and truly RESPECT that......seriously

Very Well Spoken!!!

Wow..........I am the SOLE club member that prefers the DC/18 volt combo over the NS-2? Crap.........I'm about to get exiled! :help:

I'll be right there with ya.

I wouldn't say that. I'm trying out the P/DC combo right now with my NS-5XL, but before that, when I played a 9v equipped Forte against the 18v with DC's, I picked the 5XL. A lot of that has to do with the low B though.

It goes beyond the NS body thing, and I think really only the "Spector Only" people keep that beef alive. To each his own tho...

O and I'm a Spector only player... I don't own any non Spectors anymore. ;)

Yes, Donny but a lot of that has to do with you being a Spector artist. Anyone that is a Spector Artist should only have Spectors', same as Warwick. Since I myself am not I have the luxury of owning different stuff but if I was in your shoes I would have to only stick with Spectors' too....its like your married and me and Jamie are single and can go on many dates with a lot of attractive women...:bassist::bassist::bassist:

I like this analogy....lol. Since I am faithfully married to a woman......but to no bass! Lol

That's a valid point. But I'm actually just that kind of guy. I owned only Spector's before the endorsement. I played only Gibson Les Pauls and only buy Fords for my personal vehicles.... lol. I guess I'm a brand loyal guy.

Hey guys, I was tasked with writing a Jazz fusion piece with another one of my classmates for my Jazz Composition class. Each team was to write a piece in one of the key styles of jazz- from field chants through to Jazz fusion (and everything in between, blues, bebop, free jazz, swing, etc.). This was all done in collaboration with our school's dance department, with each of their senior teams choreographing a dance for each style. We recorded all of the tunes in class with my teacher's zoom recorder (and some editing on his part in a DAW). I play upright on most of the tunes, but for the fusion piece it was all spector- my legend 5 into the schools old peavey amp. there's the occasional goof-up, but it was a solid first take (after some rehearsing). Thought you guys might enjoy it!
