Dont get me wrong at all. I just know what Lee likes and what he has been playing. I like to stretch out into other genres myself. I was trained classically so appreciate all sorts. In my cover band we play everything........from WAR to Sublime, to Stevie Wonder, Prince, Soundgarden, STP, Pearl JAM, AIC, Bill Withers, Little RIver Band, Zeppelin........and the list goes on! I was just happy to see Lee going another way..........it's like when Mike Cooper (fat240) talks to me about Pantera, Down, and other heavy bands, then we start talking about and he plays a classical peice on bass.......

It seems we are not only Spector lovers, but music lovers here!

My guilty pleasure is Bruno Mars......"Locked Outta Heaven" it initially reminds me of Sting.....the vocals and muted bassline........i like it so much I learned the bass and some other parts!

My first Cassette (whats that?) was Men at work Cargo.............lol. There I dated myself...... Vinyl was Foriegner and Black Sabbath.........however was raised on Beatles, Brothers Four, Peter Paul and Mary............look at me now!

Oh yeah, and I was a big fan of John Taylor and early Duran Duran........you can thank my girlfriend at the time........

FYI that GK 412 does not have any side handles, great sounding cab but had to get rid of it it was to hard to move without those side handles.

I'm hoping I'll be able to manage with the wheels and back handle on it. We'll see!

I also saw where someone had bought side handles from amplifier parts and put them on each side, said it ended up costing him less 20-30 bucks or so?

Hey dudes, thanks again for all the feedback on my first studio tune. Here is the second rough edit. This was the Amber/Maple board NS 2. The engineer had me trim a little treble but otherwise it's NS 2 > ADL tube DI > board.

The bass is definitely more buried in this tune. See what you think:

Sounding great Lee, I have to do my duty as a bass player that requires me to say "needs more bass!!".

Thanks for the info. Is there an advantage to the 412 vs using 212's? I ask because I have a car not a truck and I'm not sure I could fit the 412 in the backseat, but I can likely get one of the two 212's in the trunk. Right now my Eden 410 will fit but I can't get a second cab in the car. Plus they're HEAVY.

I have the Mesa PH412 and am going to replace the stock drivers with Fatial Pro neo's. They made a world of difference in my Mesa 215 and lightened it up quite a bit. I have never compared it to a 212 though. I do like the 412 because it is 4ohm's and that's the load I prefer on my cabs.

Got to play what's in your head. That's one of the reasons after the last two bands I was in fell apart due to musical differences and good ol band drama, I decided to start this new project with a few friends that are pretty much in the same open mindset that I am. All of them have done their own solo albums the last few years and are pretty diverse. Heavy stuff always mixes well with classical too. Being able to create dynamics and emontionally connect people is key for me. I once wanted to be a super techinical player but found out the only people that cared about that was other musicans and they are usually not the one's buying the music. Look at Mr. Big, some of the greatest talent playing simple stuff and it was greater than anything techinical they ever did.

BTW, if anyone has any connections for logo desgin and promo let me know.

In with 2 blues and a white, though one of the blue's is going thru refin at the moment.

Thinking about getting a pair of GK Neo 212's but I can't seem to find any Chicago-area stores that might have one in stock to try. Any of our current and former GK owners have experience running one or two of these?

Looking for a 2 cab setup for my recently acquired MB800 (which definitely is a pocket nuke Lee!).

I'm another club member thats running my Spector into my Mesa 4X12 and man, I'm so happy with this cab! I also own the PH610 and its also a killer cab, though I haven't played any of the GK neo's yet. I would really love to do an A/B of the PH412 and the NEO412 but I havent had one come up locally while I have some extra funds yet so I'm kinda waiting on that.

If you have the opportunity to check out some of Mesas offerings, you owe it to yourself to give it a shot! My cabs have the perfect natural aggressive voicing that just meshes so well with my Spector.

I will keep that on my list to try. I went with the GK for now due to pricing as well as it seemed like a great match for the MB800. So yeah by the time I'm done selling the Kramer maybe I won't be in debt LOL.

I need to say a huge thank you to Sam for selling that for me. Yes, that was my JH5 and when I bought the Forte from Sam, one thing I told him he needed to help me with was to sell that bass.

He spent hours on that thing polishing all of the frets and setting it up perfectly so a huge thank you goes out to him for that. It is a great bass but I have just come to the conclusion that I am not a bolt on guy.

I also have to say how awesome Hipshot is as a company. One of the screws for the B string saddle didn't seem to be working as good as the rest so i sent them an email asking if I could buy a new saddle from them. A few days later, i had a package in my mailbox and they sent me 5 brand new saddles for the bridge at no charge. That is some serious customer service right there.

Well normally I would wait until I had the cash from stuff I've sold to buy other stuff, but I've been playing a little loose with my credit the past month or so. Since the proceeds from selling my matte 435 to NOLA and my Stingray 5HH went towards gear I just picked up, right now I'm in the hole for what I've spent on the MB800 and the Neo 412. But, once I get the Kramer sold and the other 435, I'll have that stuff paid off and enough to put in my deposit for my green fretless, which BTW is going to have to be the "NAMM" green. But it will have it's own look since it will be black hardware and an ebony board.

Then I just need to figure out how to pay the balances later this year, but I figure that's Future Bunk's problem.

I am playing both 4's and 5's now. I still have the Rebop 5 as well so that is 2 of each but I really wasn't happy with my playing at all so I went back to basics a bit. I am glad I did since I have seen such an improvement in my playing over the last month because I have really been concentrating on my technique which was really bad before.

Well I took the plunge and ordered the GK NEO 412. Looks like it's only 3 1/2 feet tall so I should get that in my back seat no problem. And it weighs the same as my D410XLT so shouldn't be any harder to move around.

Are you going to pair the 12's with the 10's?

Nope just the 412. It's going to be different since I've been playing 410's forever.
