My wife told me last night that she still uses Chrome as they created a patch that fixed the glitches. I use Safari...I like how as soon as I walk in my home, within proximity of iPad,Macbook and iMac, they all get updated with by my iPhone 5 by what info that I might have added/change (As long as all electronic devises have Bluetooth on). Or by whatever electronic devise that I was using at the time. Just the other day I picked up my iPad (which I hadn't used in a week or 2, and it had followed where I left off on Talkbass with my iPhone. Didn't know it'd do that. :cool:

That's pretty cool. Due to my job I'm entrenched in the Windows and Android environment, but what you describe sound like a good setup.

Makes sense... stain darkens as wood ages. And I never let any of my babies get sunlight.

The fretboard is getting all of these wavy patterns in it. It's really a stunning bass. And I never tire of playing her!

I just bought this 4 year old Euro 5LX in black cherry for £600 (just over $900).

It's been sitting in the guy who sold it me's bedroom for most of that time (its never left his house), and whilst it's dusty, the strings are dead and is in need of a decent setup, it's only got one minor scratch.

An absolute bargain in my book!

The only other oddity is that on the set of strings fitted, the B string winding won't fit through the slot in the bridge.

Any recommendations on a set of strings that fit ok?

Congratulations on a great snag! That's a beauty! As for the B string...guys here either crimp the string where it goes thru the bridge or buy tapered strings. Sorry, I don't recall which company they use. Somebody will step in soon.

What I said was a little misleading...it's actually the newer iOS 6.1.3 that does all of that. My apologies.

I understand about how jobs can entrench you into specific OS or web browsers, as when I owned and ran our own W.I.S.P. I had to have a great understanding of ALL web browsers, search engines and OS's because you never knew what your customer would be using on their computer or electronic devise(s).

Yeah the bridges can be a pain like that. One of my Euros can't even get a DR 125 through it.

I use Circle K strings which are all tapered. Some other tapered strings:

Spector brand
Rotosound
D'Addario singles

Todd, remember to take time to stop & smell the roses. There's no sense in owning a mega-collection like yours if you don't take the time to relax & enjoy it from time to time...:bassist:

Is this an issue with the USA brass bridges too? I had to VERY slightly drill out the bridge on my Euro, but now it fits the DR 125's and 130's.

So I've thought about modifying my Legend's controls.

What would it take to change the individual High/Low controls into High/Med/Low/Vol? I don't really care about individual pickup control, so wiring those so they both work as a single unit would be absolutely fine.

I just can't stand not having a vol pot.

The USA bridges seem to have a bit more space to fit thicker strings, especially the ones with the intonation screws. I was able to get a .135 D'Addarrio in my NS-5XL without a problem which wasn't tapered so my theory is the slots are a bit wider on the bridges with the intonation screws.

It is possible this could be the same with the Euro bridges that have the intonation screws but I don't have one of those so I can't really confirm it.

this one replaces the bass and trebel knobs with one stacked bass/treb knob and one mid knob with a push pull switch in it for the mid frequency selector, it's the one i'm thinking of geting for my euro

gpx that's a beast. Now I've done some wiring repair on old basses and the like, but I've never really dabbled in replacing internals. I have however had 5 years of electronics training thanks to uncle Sam. This is pretty much Tab A Slot B?

Heck with that! He can enjoy it whenever... He needs to get to some picture snappin' chop-chop so we can all dream and drool some more.

Regardless that I've shoot over 200 (which means I've had over 200 in my hands), I NEVER get tired of seeing new ones I haven't seen before.

Especially Vintage Spectors.

I'm still at heart a big Brooklyn fan.

i don't know i've never instaled one before, i was planing on checking out aguilars site to see if theirs any kind of install instructions, i think their might even be somthing on youtube

Get it! Its not a hard install and aguilar has mutiple ways you can wire it! I say grab it!

so whats the deal with intonation screws on the euro series, some basses have them and some don't just by random chance or is it a change that they recently started or stoped puting them in?
the reason i ask is becouse my new 4lx clasic came today(pics to come later) and it has intonation screws so i'm curious if this means it's a very new model or an older madel or if i just got lucky.
the bridge also has a second locking screw on the top instead of just one on the bottom

i watched a youtube video today and it looks like they had a prety detailed wiering diagram so it should be prety simple

Anybody know which Spector 5 models come with a narrow .66 spacing? I see the special edition one here

Any others now or in the past? I can't do the full .75mm spacing, wish I could. If someone has one in the Boston area, even better!!
