so i'm waiting on my first spector to show up tomorow :hyper:
and i'm allready thinking about changing the preamp becouse every bass i have owned had a mid range controle and it's the one i use the most( ushualy a cut for slap and a slight boost for fingerstyle metal) and i see that GC has the agulair obp3 for $144 wich i can install myself no problem
so i'm looking for some opinions knowing that i do use the mid controle is the obp3 worth the extra cash or is the tone pump allready better suited for the euro bases.
i am allready biased tward the 3 band but i want to here from some peapole who use the tone pump.

I'm one of those (few) that didn't like the tone pump and installed the OBP-3. Been quite happy.

Yeah Chrome has been having issues...my wife had issues also with Chrome. I looked at Chrome but didn't care for it.

I have always kept IE ready as Chrome, Firefox, etc., all have an issue at one time or another. I like how my profile in Chrome follows me from computer to computer. It also plays well with Google Drive and I've got 100 gigs there with my Docs and desktop synced to it for backup.

I keep buying stuff to kill time waiting for my Rex. Bought a Para Driver, didnt like it. Sold it 2 days later. Just ordered a new MXR M80. Bought 2 sets of Pro Steels. Parts to convert to 18 volt and a 3" wide Dimarzio clip lock strap. If I dont find something else to keep myself busy Ill have a new Cabinet by the end of the week. Likely an Ampeg 810 that will be a joy to get up the stairs to our practice space and may fall through the floor or a GK Neo412 seeing I cant find a match to my GK Neo 212 series 1 cabinet.

Whatever you're doing keep doing it because nobody captures these beauties like you do Patrick! :D:cool:

Thanks! As I was telling another member here in a PM... it's practice. I've shot over 200 USA Spectors now. Other than Stuart I may have a record.

Although Todd could easily have it between his collection and the basses that rotate through his store.

I figure one more BPL and one more NAMM Show and I'll be at 300+

Then I'll be number 2 behind Stuart. And I'll never catch him. :D

I love the maple neck on this bass next to that fantastic wood pattern.

And as she is aging... headed towards her second birthday this year, the grain in the birdseye maple is really getting darker and starting to come out. It's much more intricate than what the photos I shot when I first got her showed.

Makes sense... stain darkens as wood ages. And I never let any of my babies get sunlight.

The fretboard is getting all of these wavy patterns in it. It's really a stunning bass. And I never tire of playing her!

Todd offered to have my USA shipped to him for inspection before sending it on to me. I'm thinking of doing it if he'll take some Spector porn shots for me. Even if it adds a couple of days to the wait. That way I'll have some good pics to post right away. :D

And he can... his photos are awesome. For sure the best Spector photos coming out of any dealer I've seen.

I keep waiting to see an updated "SpectorWorld" with new photos of the basses taken with his new setup.

I just bought this 4 year old Euro 5LX in black cherry for £600 (just over $900).

It's been sitting in the guy who sold it me's bedroom for most of that time (its never left his house), and whilst it's dusty, the strings are dead and is in need of a decent setup, it's only got one minor scratch.

An absolute bargain in my book!

The only other oddity is that on the set of strings fitted, the B string winding won't fit through the slot in the bridge.

Any recommendations on a set of strings that fit ok?

I prefer the OBP 3 as well :bassist: I really believe its one of the most versatile preamps. :bassist:

My wife told me last night that she still uses Chrome as they created a patch that fixed the glitches. I use Safari...I like how as soon as I walk in my home, within proximity of iPad,Macbook and iMac, they all get updated with by my iPhone 5 by what info that I might have added/change (As long as all electronic devises have Bluetooth on). Or by whatever electronic devise that I was using at the time. Just the other day I picked up my iPad (which I hadn't used in a week or 2, and it had followed where I left off on Talkbass with my iPhone. Didn't know it'd do that.
