SPECTOR® Club - Part 59

Anybody know which Spector 5 models come with a narrow .66 spacing? I see the special edition one here

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Any others now or in the past? I can't do the full .75mm spacing, wish I could. If someone has one in the Boston area, even better!!

Seems to me that all the Spector 5 stringers are .66 @ bridge unless you ask for the wide .75 spacing. Am I wrong?

Yeah sorry, I read that wrong, I guess I'm looking for a Wimbish narrow neck on a 5er which would be 1.75" width at nut vs 1.85"

This doesnt look bad

Bolt on NS-5H2 which is 1.80, the NON-Wide version. Hmm. Gotta try one of these

I highly recommend the US BO series! They are fantastic!

I just got my NS-5J2 BO fretless a week or so ago and I have to say it is amazing!! I am already getting specs together for it's fretted counterpart! :bassist:

Cool, I'm looking for the Bolt ons... nice. I know for a fact the Euro LXs are too big for me, I liked em but if you play it like crap, it does ya no good! If ANYBODY has one of these in the Boston area, PM me, I'd love to try it! Thanks

The Wimbish is only available as a 4-string.
Basically because it's a 1.5" jazz nut as opposed the standard Spector 4-string nut of 1.61" (Neck-Thru) - 1.64"-1.65" (USA Bolt-On).

The thing about USA Spectors is that they are all hand-made. So there can be variances in any given measurement.

I've noticed that with my Forte basses. I have a 2011 and a 2012 forte and one of the necks seems to feel "thicker" to me, not by much. I'd say more a U shape verses a C shape, fatter towards the edges.

That being said neither of the necks are anywhere near as thick as my old NS5XL, that thing....man...

That's why the NS-5XL I have on order is getting a treatment done on the neck to shave it thinner to more resemble the Kramer period necks and also be more like my Euro. It's something anyone can ask for when they order. Also, as Patrick said, USA's being hand made will vary so maybe yours varied toward a thicker feel.

Let's say that someone wanted a 4 string Spector with a 35" scale....what would be ones options? It's for...a friend. Yeah.

I..I mean..he would prefer a bolt on neck with an MM pickup at the bridge if possible.

Don't know about 35" scale.

But I ordered this today, as a matter of fact.
This is a Photoshop Mock Up. This is not a finished bass... yet.
I'll have to wait a few days to get an idea of how long I'll be waiting. But it will be a USA neck-thru with single MM at the bridge.

Specs:
USA NS-4
18v Aguilar OBP-3
EMG MMTW
BEM Neck
Black Pearl Option
Steelburst Gloss Finish
Black Hardware

PJ approved it for me today. So now the wait begins. :D
I'm going to call this one the "Steel Monster"

----------------------------

Since Sam is into numbers... we'll wait and see what the finish date on the headstock will read.
But it was ordered on his birthday.
That's got to be a good thing, right?

I'm G.A.Ssing for one of those Rebop MM4!!! How do you like it? How does it compares to the NS-2?

A very different Spector sound. It's a lot closer to a StingRay, but not as aggressive sounding. It's a sweet, sweet tone!

In! Very late but in..

Gorgeous!

I've been playing with neutral backgrounds when shooting darker basses. I think it helps them pop out a little more and show the shape better.

It definitely pops. The NS design is a truly beautiful thing.

Hey Guys!

If you guys have two minutes.. it literally takes about that long

Could you vote for my band? We're still pretty new but I'd be neat to get one one of these dates during our rookie year.

you can vote everyday and with as much email accounts lol

Done

Notreble posted this tonight. Here is the NS-2 that I believe "connected2AJ" owns with the bass tremolo on it and man, this thing sounds good.

Awesome!

Yikes...Part 59. I am clearly neglecting the forum. I've been practicing a lot. Trying to focus on some basic theory. My concentration being almost non existent, it's a difficult task :P

Nevertheless, here are a few pictures from my last show with The Mighty One.
The Forte 4 bulldozed through the mix perfectly!! The sound guy said he's never heard a bass sound that good. I pointed at the headstock and simply said "It's a Spector". :bassist: :bassist:

This one's my favorite. Sweet shots! :bassist::bassist:

I'm having a weird electrical problem. When my volume knobs are al the way off I am getting volume still... its not full volume but it is fairly clear. any ideas where to start looking?

I had Brian at the LowEnd install an OBP-3 into a Fender Jazz DLX and a Euro 5XL and they both had that issue...it turned out one of the wires wasn't grounded correctly on each.

It was a simple fix but a frustrating few days for sure! Hope it's that simple!!

That's going to be super sexy!! Good choice on the single MM/Aggie combo!! I am smitten by that pickup right now, and that is all I am thinking about with my next one!
