My friend recommended a much more realistic price and the guy got really defensive.

My thoughts exactly. The market will sort this kind of thing out by its very nature. He'll be sitting on that bass for a long time at that price. Still, these kinds of things are annoying (knowing that there are people out there trying to rip off other people). :scowl:

im almost sure those knobs on the spector site WILL NOT fit the korean haz copy. you'll need a bigger size than those. cant remember the size, but lima might know. or someone else who has the same pre.

Those will not, those are designed for smaller shafts, you have to get the USA knobs which are very pricey. Note those Euro knobs are $6.95 PER KNOB

I bought a set of the USA knobs for mine because I love the look but they are not cheap.

Email PJ and ask him about the knobs for the USA 9V circuit, those are the same knobs that fit the copy preamp. You can also use any set-screw knobs that are designed for the larger smooth-shaft.

AuWhat?!?! EACH KNOB??? Glad they won't fit. Yeah the shafts are 1/4"...thanks Bass!

StewMac has plastic Spector style bevel knobs. If you're handy you can drill them out a little bit ( i think with a 1/4" bit ) and have a nice snug press on fit.

I did that with my old NS-2A.

I had inquired about some knobs for a 9v that I picked up and Jo Ann quoted me a little over $70.00. So with that I am still knobless.

Hey everyone! Last night I made a couple more 18V preamp mod harnesses while sitting around and the soldering iron was still plugged in from my preamp trade out on my NS-2000/5. It cost me less than a buck, that's right $1.00 , if anyone here would like any for their bass(s) and isn't comfortable with soldering, please PM me. My charge will be materials ($1.00) plus mailing, only. I believe we have such a fantastic resource of talents here in our Spector family and everyone pitches in to help one another, I would like to extend my services to anyone in need.

I saw the listing weeks ago when it first came up, and I actually laughed out loud when I saw his asking price - you could have bought a new NS-2 for what he was asking!

I believe the current asking price is actually lower than the original listing.

I thought the same thing the first time I saw the listing- little to no figuring in the maple, incorrect description and way overpriced....

Also, that doesn't look like a USA bridge, which is suppose to be flat on top not rounded.

Now you're talking! Now you are quoting one of my favorites, LOL. That movie has so many quotable lines it's not even funny and I love when he is demoing the new gun and he turns to the camera and goes "my favorite."

And yes, I also agree with you guys and prefer the dots over the decals as well.

I love the neck, the weight and the sound! However, I was surprised to get the single coil hum, even when the balance was on the middle notch.
For some reason I thought emg actives were pretty much silent... In all fairness, my house is approx. 100 years old, and some of the wiring is somewhat ancient too. If this follows the pattern of all my previous jazz basses, it should be buzz free on all but the dive-iest bars

By the way, the white NS2-JA-R is the new one, pictured next to its mono-double-bag-mate. My legend would have been in the family pic, but is at rehearsal space...

The SSD bridges were rounded off like that and not flat like the current ones.

Oh, I for one do prefer the crown inlays, don't get me wrong, I'm referring to the decals you stick on the neck to make it look like you have the inlays. If anything is to be a true collectors item it should be stock. Or restored to stock. IMHO
