WOW. Love that. Todd are those wings solid?
Or are they 50% with the Black Walnut back like the Water Cured Redwood models?
Usually Stuart has used the Redwood Burl as a top for the mahogany bodied bolt-ons. I don't think I've seen him do a neck-thru with that wood yet.

For those of you playing with Wimbish neck profiles, do you find it difficult to quickly adjust to the more standard size Spector necks?

I'd like to give one a try, but I worry that it will turn into a new addiction..... one that will have me selling all of my existing basses for ones with the Wimbish profile.

Hey guys, sorry for such a long delay in getting back on here and chatting it up about the ol Spector greatness. Flew from Korea to SC then drove 6000 miles to Alaska It's been quite a trip to say the least. When I was at home I was able to pick up my new Forte from a fellow club member. All I can say is wow. I couldn't believe that it could be better than the Euro, but it is! I love it. What's crazy is that I was so used to the Wimbish profile, after playing the Forte, didn't like the skinny neck anymore. Weird right??? I can honestly say I'm good on basses for a bit! (Now time for a good rig!!)

As you know, the months get rather cold here in Alaska and its dark pretty much all the time in the winter. So with my new Les Paul in the picture above and the Forte are going to make some tunes with my home studio project I'm doing. Any one with some experience have some leads? I have experience with FL Studio which is great for Synth's and beats. Instrument recording not so much. I'm going to be jamming with a friend from work who uses a Presonus USB and their Studio one software. Seems legit... Any suggestions will help! Got to get the creative juices flowing since I'm not in a band at the moment.

Hope everyone is doing well though! Rock on as always! Also, I'm feeling bad about the Euro Lx4 not getting much attention and time, mainly due to me not being able to put the Forte down. Figured she could go to a home that will put her to use. If anyone is interested let me know. I'll be posting in the classifieds soon.

Between my USA NS-2 and my USA NS-4, I believe I could sell off all of my other basses & never miss them.
I'm actually thinking about doing this - the older I get, the more I find I want to simplify my life by concentrating more on quality, & less on quantity.

I know what you mean!

I have a bevy of amazing USA Spectors and honestly if I never got another bass as long as I lived I'd be so much more than satisfied with any ONE that currently own.

Went from the Wimbish to the Forte with a little trouble for the couple of hours, then it got better. After a couple of days, I couldn't go back to the Wimbish without feeling cramped in the lower frets. The Forte just feels much more natural to my left hand, and easier to move around in my opinion. It's all about what your hands are going like.

I believe that is one of the prototypes for the Rebop MM if I am not mistaken. Patrick posted it on Facebook and said PJ owns it.

I liked Jim's Rush reference in a previous post where he used the lyrics from Red Barchetta to describe a Spector that he prepped for me. So much so that I got a wild hair and turned the whole song Red Barchetta into "Red Spector". I can be such a geek sometimes.

Red Spector

My uncle had a secret passion, that no one knew was there.
He said it used to be a Fender before the Brooklyn Era.
And on Sundays I elude the eyes and crank the SVT.
To far outside eleven to appease my inner needs.

Jump to the ground as the HAZlab* grinds across the borderline.
Play like the wind as excitement shivers up and down my spine.
Down in his basement my uncle preserved for me an old machine, for 30 odd years.
To keep it as new has been his dearest dream.

I stripped away the old debris that hides a shining Spector.
A brilliant red NS-2 from a better managed time.
I fire up the willing preamp, responding with a roar.
Speakers growling loudly I commit my weekly crime.

Music… In the air… Growling and grinding… Beautiful music… Adrenaline surge...

Over a well-worn fret board my fingers roll, they know their place is there.
Spotlight on chrome, the blur of the audience, every nerve aware.

Suddenly ahead of me, my future opens wide.
A gleaming bolt of knowledge says this bass it must be mine.
I spin around with shrieking fan base, to completely ROCK this place.
Go screaming through the chorus like some wild eyed basket case.

Play like the wind, straining the limits of machine and man.
Laughing out loud with fear and hope I've got a desperate plan.
At the end of the bridge, I leave guitarists stranded at the stage’s side.
Race back to the farm, to dream with my uncle at the Spector’s side.​

OH MY! What is this called? Rebop variation?

This is the first ReBop-MM prototype. It was built as a platform demo for the ReBop-MM and sent to show potential options for the bass since at the time it was made the final options hadn't been chosen. It's a one-off and is not available for order. Although you could always ask PJ if the Czech shop would make you one.
It's got the same matte black finish the Mike Kroeger bass has and an Ebony fingberboard like the Alex Webster.
I love this prototype. It lived with me for about a month and really thought about asking PJ if he'd sell it to me.

This was an idea that Ned had about trying to offer better balance when placing the strap on the bass. It didn't work out very well.
Mainly because it sort of counter-acted the whole scooped-back comfort thing you get with the NS.
So it was done on this one bass only. That's why it's the prototype. It was really an experiment. A work in progress.

Hey Joe, glad the trip worked out well, I love the wimbish, I guess I feel the opposite coming from jazz basses the neck feels right to me, I guess you gotta spend some time with it to get comfortable either way.

Mono's are the best bags IMO!

I have yet to try an iGig G515, which I hear are great and have a bit more storage space than the Mono, but it can't protect the bass better than my Mono!

Mono bag the brand name? I like a lot of protection for my babes. That's why I use the Spector HSC.
