A question for Todd and/or Patrick (& ultimately PJ) - would it be possible to order a Coda Deluxe with EMG Jazz pickups & the US 9-volt circuit?
If not, which of available pickup/preamp combinations would come closest to this sound?
A sudden inspiration hit me today - a Coda Deluxe with quilted top in ultraviolet, BEM board with abalone, and the EMG/US-9-volt electronics. I think this package would deliver both the feel & sound I've been dreaming of in a Jazz-style bass....
This Codawould replace my Jazz, two Rics and Stingray, thinning down the herd.

I got some time last night to play the Rex through my iPad using JamUp and an iRig. It sounds like a Spector alright ! The Tone Pump is a bit on the hot side for the program though. Cant wait till Friday to give it a run with the band.
Patrick - Thank You for your answer & explanation. In the event my proposed configuration gets a "No", which available pre/pickup combo would you recommend to get close to my desired tone?
Thanks.
For those of you playing with Wimbish neck profiles, do you find it difficult to quickly adjust to the more standard size Spector necks?
I'd like to give one a try, but I worry that it will turn into a new addiction..... one that will have me selling all of my existing basses for ones with the Wimbish profile.

Thanks everyone! I am truly honored beyond words....which is rare.![]()

Yep! She sounds good! Be careful with the trim pot on that bass. It's pretty chewed up and rotates backward. Turning to the right is lowering the volume. It was set to about 4 when I had it, which sounded best into my SVT. The pot is still smooth though.
So clockwise to lower the output ?
