correct! They provide almost the same protection as a hsc but with the convenience of a gig bag! I find several high profile musicians use them and higher end bass manufacturers send basses out with Mono's as their "original" case...the Low End in Murfreesboro is one.

The mono bags really are an outstanding product. The only thing I can think of that they wouldn't protect against is a very heavy weight falling across the top. I'm not sure a wood case could even protect from that...

Plus my double bag with two basses only weighs a little more than one bass in a wood case.

Not everyone has the same tastes, I realize, but I really think a lot of mono!

I couldn't believe that it could be better than the Euro, but it is! I love it. What's crazy is that I was so used to the Wimbish profile, after playing the Forte, didn't like the skinny neck anymore. Weird right??? I can honestly say I'm good on basses for a bit! (Now time for a good rig!!)

As you know, the months get rather cold here in Alaska and its dark pretty much all the time in the winter. So with my new Les Paul in the picture above and the Forte are going to make some tunes with my home studio project I'm doing. Any one with some experience have some leads? I have experience with FL Studio which is great for Synth's and beats. Instrument recording not so much. I'm going to be jamming with a friend from work who uses a Presonus USB and their Studio one software. Seems legit... Any suggestions will help! Got to get the creative juices flowing since I'm not in a band at the moment.

Hope everyone is doing well though! Rock on as always! :bassist: Also, I'm feeling bad about the Euro Lx4 not getting much attention and time, mainly due to me not being able to put the Forte down. Figured she could go to a home that will put her to use. If anyone is interested let me know. I'll be posting in the classifieds soon.

You won't have any troubles selling the Euro-4 on here. Plenty to take it off your hands. Good luck with your studio project. :bassist: Peace brother :cool:

Usually Stuart has used the Redwood Burl as a top for the mahogany bodied bolt-ons. I don't think I've seen him do a neck-thru with that wood yet.

They are 50/50. Unfortunately trying to find a solid piece this nice would be almost impossible.

I'm glad you are enjoying it. Where is the tone pump set and were you running it at 9v or 18v? DCs and a tone pump just sound huge

BTW, if anyone is really in love with the Black Cherry NS-5 that was used in this article, I know where it is and can give you details if you want for it's available.

Just putting that out there in case it catches someone's fancy. I had thought someone had bought it but they hadn't. I found out a little earlier tonight.

Thanks dude, glad you love the Wimbish, she treated me well and made some really great times with gigs in Korea. I know she will do the same for you! It does take some time. I was always accustomed to the Jazz neck profile. All my basses for almost 8 years had that 1.5 nut and small profile. Something changed when I got that Forte and developed more dexterity and strength with my pinky. I dont have big hands either, really hard to explain. I do know Sam warned me that could happen. Thanks LimaGuy!!

A question for Todd and/or Patrick (& ultimately PJ) - would it be possible to order a Coda Deluxe with EMG Jazz pickups & the US 9-volt circuit?

If not, which of available pickup/preamp combinations would come closest to this sound?

A sudden inspiration hit me today - a Coda Deluxe with quilted top in ultraviolet, BEM board with abalone, and the EMG/US-9-volt electronics. I think this package would deliver both the feel & sound I've been dreaming of in a Jazz-style bass....
This Codawould replace my Jazz, two Rics and Stingray, thinning down the herd.
