No, for that you would need the 35TW pickups. The DC's don't have the ability to go to single coil mode like the TW pickups which come standard on the newer Euro LX models.

You can tell they are TW's when the EMG symbol is written in orange as opposed to the DC's (and most of the other EMG pickups) are written in white. These are for the soapbar models just so you know.

Also the X series do single/dual mode and the single mode is actually louder output than the TW's.

It is really confusing understanding all the different models especially with the older Asian imports.

That appears to be a Q-5 Pro

Quick Summary of guidelines you can follow.

When you see a bridge like the one that is on that bass it is 99% time a Korean made import.

The Chinese or Indonesian Import Performer series will have a more traditional looking bridge

Q-4 and Q-5 are bolt on models with a flat body shape.
NS-20004 or NS-20005 will be similar to the them but be Neck-Thru models.

The Legend Series Bolt-ons that came after those models will have a body curve in it. Spector refers to these as the original series Legends.

There was then a Legend Custom series which came with a set neck.

Called up Todd and talked about it with him and I said yes. (Damn that guy's great to work with!) PJ said that between the bleaching/sanding/prep they do on the wood and the walnut stain those dark spots will be almost gone and just add character.

I am stoked! Here's the pic of the raw wood. It's been wet down to help bring out the grain.

:help: okay...I need control knobs for the Korean Haz Copy preamp I've installed in my NS-2000/5. I see in the Spector online store there's knobs for the Euro $6.95 set. Will those fit? Any other suggestions/resources? I really like the black metal knobs that came on the BT circuit on the NS-2000/5...but I'm open to suggestions. Your help is much appreciated! :D

im almost sure those knobs on the spector site WILL NOT fit the korean haz copy. you'll need a bigger size than those. cant remember the size, but lima might know. or someone else who has the same pre.

Those will not, those are designed for smaller shafts, you have to get the USA knobs which are very pricey. Note those Euro knobs are $6.95 PER KNOB ;)

I bought a set of the USA knobs for mine because I love the look but they are not cheap.

Email PJ and ask him about the knobs for the USA 9V circuit, those are the same knobs that fit the copy preamp. You can also use any set-screw knobs that are designed for the larger smooth-shaft.

StewMac has plastic Spector style bevel knobs. If you're handy you can drill them out a little bit ( i think with a 1/4" bit ) and have a nice snug press on fit.

I did that with my old NS-2A.

I used to be strictly a neck-thru guy until I received the Coda 5XL. I still love me some neck-thru Spectors still. There's a smoothness to them like no other. :bassist: :D :cool: Getcha one...or 2...or more!

Very cool. Good job on the packing. I'm gonna check it out for when I sell my Jazz Bass. You said it wasn't a Spector case but it still looks like a really nice one though. Starting to get antsy to plug this puppy in at rehearsal and make some music and rattle some windows! :bassist:
