 :bassist: My Carvin B1500 arrives Friday also :) But...we will be out of town so I had delivery rescheduled for Tuesday.

Having played a friends ns20005 like Donny is now getting and owning several of the B1500's Michael is getting in trade, I am very interested in both of your takes on the traded pieces.

Donny.....i think the bass you are getting is a well kept secret...........

Michael........i think based on you liking the Coda and loving the aguilar preamps.....i think you will love the sounds you can get from the B1500.........

Again, I am interested in both of your opinions on the traded pieces....:hyper:

PS-Michael.....feel free to talk to me about the tonal controls.....be careful with that sub bass knob.......:hiding:

I decided to quit fartin around and get serious about learning to play acoustic guitar! :bassist: Tonight, both my wife and I are starting guitar lessons...from our lead guitarist in the band I play in on Tuesday nights...and no charge. Very great of her to do this. She, Cindy heard me talking about how I've been wanting to learn since I was 9. I'm excited about it! :D Then my wife and I can do some studio work at home (Once I learn to record well) and also we can be a 2 person band. :):bassist: :hyper: My wife also has a beautiful voice and I can harmonize with my voice singing Bass, lead and Tenor.

Thank you for the kind words. I will take and post some decent pictures of the bass tomorrow......time and lighting willing. I am working with a galaxy 3 cell camera or iPod touch or iPad camera so the sun moon and stars need to align....lol

I'm very happy for you too Jami for being bestowed such a "Wonderful" Bass that has a ton of happiness and memories in it, plus it staying within our family here. You're a really good person reaching out and helping those in need. Kudos & congratulations brother! :) Chris is smiling for sure. :)

Oh man, not good! :scowl:

While prepping breakfast this morning I cut the knuckle on my left index finger. Now it's bandaged up but if I bend it I'll open the cut up (not to mention the pain :hmm:). That means no clutch pulling on the Harley, but worst of all... no bass playing. :bawl: I suppose I could work on the exercises for my ring and pinky finger! :bassist:

Oh well. Watch'ya gonna do? Wait and heal. (Thanks for letting me vent.)

OMG! A store in Norway (about 50km form me) just got in an order of Spectors!! Finally can my fellow Norwegian bassists try these beautiful instruments. They couldn't before because no one gets to touch my bass ;)

Happy days, here in Norway. Aside from all the damn rain...

All kinds of empathy here! My wife says I can cut myself looking at somthing sharp. There was the carpet cutting incident, the Sheetrock knife under the pickup seat incident ...
Be careful and heal fast ! :bassist:

Yes...the NS-2000/5 is a hidden jewel for sure...I pain stakingly thought over letting it out of my arsenal...

Thank you for your offer on the control Jami! I'll take you up on this. :)
Unfortunately the biggest rig that I currently have to plug into is my Ampeg B-15T...but I'll still plug it in...how can I not?!?! :D :bassist:

That sucks. Hopefully doesn't take too long to heal.

Years ago I cut the side of my left middle finger on a can lid and needed seven stitches. Thankfully it didn't get any nerves or tendons. Of course I had a show in a week and we had to rehearse. So I basically looked like I was flipping everyone off when I played with this big bandage on my finger. I wound up using my ringer finger for everything I would have used my middle for, and it wasn't too bad. Probably would have been even easier on a 35" scale.

I'd go ahead and try playing without it - you might surprise yourself!

On the other topic, I trust and respect what Patrick says, and I truely believe he has ours and Spectors best interest at heart. That said Im happy the bass is with a fellow trusted club member and I give credit to Steve for putting it back in to trusted hands, beyond that I dont know exactly what all transpired exactly and Im sure I dont want to know, but Ill say this I dont agree with saying a person is faking an illness to run a con, unless you have proof that whole statement needs to disappear, its just not right and above who you are and what you represent. I dont know if your right or wrong but a statement like that can be very damaging if your wrong. Just my 2 cents take it for what you will. Now carry on with the the best Bass company in the world....

Let me clarify since you're taking some things out of context.

I said "I'm sorry if the guy is REALLY suffering from some neurological disorder." and I meant it.

I have had cancer. IP SCCA Krause Stage B of the left maxillary sinus. Twice. The initial tumor was discovered in November of 2005. I had surgery and did 4 months of chemotherapy. The surgery took 4.5 hours and was performed by computer controlled robots using a real-time active CAT scan of my head called an AccuTrak. That's because the tumor was 3mm from my brain.

In April of 2008 we discovered the tumor was back. This tumor is luckily non-metastatic but it is very persistent. Another surgery and another 4 months of chemo. This time much stronger. And I live with the after effects of this chemo treatment to this day.

One thing I used to talk to Chris about was the BS numbers the doc with throw at you. Survival statistics, etc... I told him to not believe them. I am in the 30% of people who survive MORE than 3 years with the type of cancer I had. Next month is 5 years for me.

I do NOT EVER use it as an excuse for ANYTHING. I don't have a get out of trouble free card because I survived cancer. If anything I feel a responsibility to be MORE careful, more thoughtful with my life and the things I do and say to affect other people around me.

Chronic or life-threatening illnesses are nothing to make light of or joke about.

In the same sentence I also said this about Steve, "But I personally have seen first-hand the waist-deep creek of bull he has spewed and I choose not to believe anything he says."

One thing that rubs me raw are people who do make excuses for otherwise unacceptable behavior by saying they've got this or that disease. And in those cases, the people have the disease, it just seems unfair to use it as an excuse for otherwise wrong behavior.

Chris would have NEVER used his Leukemia as an excuse not to do the right thing. He hated missing work. It made him feel horrible not to be able to do everyday things like help Andrea around the house.

Here's the pattern with Steve. Since you called me out on suggesting that I choose to question if he is really ill or not. Here you go.

In the cases where he has acted less than appropriately, within 24 hours of each incident (and there have been 3) he would post long journals on THIS BOARD about how he had ended up at the hospital and ended up with all sorts of emotional problems as a result of the pain and trauma that this or that medical experience created for him.

Go back and look. To you guys it might have seemed out of the blue that Steve was having these really bad things happen and he was down and depressed and suffering.

But each one of these long pour his heart out at being sick posts coincided with something else in the real-world that was a real problem regarding something he should not have done.

This is where having signed a non-disclosure agreement with Spector allows me to see and know things that I cannot discuss.

There is a clearly visible pattern of misbehavior and then failure to accept responsibility by passing off any unacceptable behavior through deflection of said behaviors by instead talking about all the pain and trauma he's experienced through this or that medical condition.

He has also shown a pattern of claiming after the fact from long-term suffering of other conditions, and the conditions change with the person he's talking to. I suppose he's not thought that the people involved would compare notes. But I'm sorry to say that people who HAVE a track record for honesty, people who have shown a penchant for being honest and truthful, have come forward in some of the incidents involving Steve and when the notes are compared. Wow. It's rather mind-blowing that the stories change to suit the situation.

As someone who has lived through something that the numbers say I shouldn't have lived through, I have more sympathy that you can imagine for people who are suffering at the hands of any disease or medical condition.

But I've been caught in the middle of a situation I had nothing to do with other than showing sympathy and friendship to someone I had wanted to think was a good person, only to find he was trying to use my good nature against me for his own selfish gain.

And I have been offended beyond words by it.

Again. I don't make this stuff up. My track record with anyone who has taken the time to know me is that I'm not going to take the time and effort to be anything but straight forward.

And my sense of integrity and honor means more to me than anything else I do or say. Because in the end, your life is defined not by the things you have or the things you've earned... but by the lives you've touched and the actions you've chosen and how those actions have either made this world a better place... or a worse place.

To me, if life is a game then we are playing for keeps and your very soul is what is at stake.

That is who I am. Sorry if I offend anyone with my straight-forward opinion on things. But I don't say it if I'm not willing to stand up and defend it. If I'm not willing to eat every one of my words and make whatever I've said right should I be wrong.

And in this case my friends, I wish I was wrong. But I'll put money on the fact I am not.

:D

Awesome. The people from Norway were at the NAMM Show and were really excited about Spector. I just added them to the website two weeks ago. Glad that Spector is now there.

I LOVE Norway, Finland and Sweden. I dated a girl from Finland in college for 2 years. A pretty serious thing... and I learned so much about the history and culture of Finland, Norway and Sweden.

:D

Ironically the day I went to film Rex in the studio I stopped off at a Starbucks for some coffee and sliced my wedding ring finger (the tip) of my fretting hand wide-open on one of those plastic tops they put on the coffee.

So for about 5 days I wasn't able to play anything. The second the pad of that finger touched a string it'd tear the wound back open.

Talking about the after-effects of chemo... I bruise so easily. And cuts take twice or three times as long to heal now. LOL. It STINKS!!!

So I feel your pain. I really do. Just give yourself a few days to heal. I hope you heal quickly!

Sorry - I feel for you & can relate....

I had a sheath surgically removed from the tendon of my left hand ring finger 2 years ago, spent 5 months healing & recovering, and it took about 10 months total before my playing was back at 100%.
Over the course of my recovery, I developed "frozen shoulder syndrome" on my left shoulder (as a result of the tourniquet placed there for the hand surgery), and I'm going on a year of physcal therapy for that rather painful condition. :rollno:
Stay strong and let it heal properly, and you'll be playing again before you know it. :bassist:

There's always crazy glue :) I remember reading stories of Flea putting crazy glue on the cuts of his hands so he could still play but I would never expect you or anyone to do that :)

It's funny that you mention exercises for your ring and pinky though since I have really been trying to concentrate on doing those lately. I bought this DVD called "Accelerate your Bass Playing" to help out with my technique and there are a few exercises in it that concentrate on those 2 fingers and I didn't realize they were that weak. I have only been doing it for 2 weeks but the difference I see is very noticeable.

Thanks for the sympathy/empathy guys. Thankfully it's not very serious, just in a very sensitive place. An inch either way and it would be nothing (I think). It's just that my Spectors and my Harley are my two escapes in life and I'll miss them. Hopefully it'll just be a few days and I can get back to it.

Listen to me whine away with these stories of chemo, tendon surgery, and stitches. I'm such a slug! :ninja:

Thanks again, you're too cool.
