Regardless of some of the other mess, one bright positive is that the white IH of Chris Loe is with another well regarded member of this group. Congrats Jamie!

Thank you for the kind words. I will take and post some decent pictures of the bass tomorrow......time and lighting willing. I am working with a galaxy 3 cell camera or iPod touch or iPad camera so the sun moon and stars need to align....lol

all i'm going to say there are 2 sides to each story and i dont know either one of them. therefore, i'll keep out of those waters. too hot for my toes!

No doubt, I've been treated great by all the members here, past and present that I have delt with. Have some awesome basses to show for it and met some great friends. I keep in touch with several members here and can only treat people the way they treat me. Hopefully whatever legal issues there are get resolved and I'm sure that Steve's connection with the stolen bass is a new one to many of us that still have occasional contact with him.

And now for something positive.

How many of you are Rex Brown fans?
How about Jeff Pilson?
Or Vinny Appice?

I was very fortunate in that I got to spend an afternoon in at Jeff Pilson's home in his personal studio with Rex, Vinny and Mark Zavon of Kill Devil Hill as they work on their 2nd album. Which will be out this fall.

Great guys. A great/awesome afternoon.

They're really all at the top of their game.

And Rex's tone CRUSHES.

Hey Patrick,

Based on what you saw, is Rex's Blow Torch used all the time as part of his tone, or selectively based on songs/parts?

I had one several years ago and never really used it. Now I see Rex uses it and you love it... Wish I didn't sell it.

The track I watched him record it was on the entire time.

He'd switch his chorus on during what I could best describe as a bridge in the song with a decidedly pronounced bass riff. Not really a solo as he was playing along with Mark's guitar part. But with the chorus the two blended really well and it sounded amazing.

Those guys are all so cool. It was great to see Mark and Rex spinning ideas around about the melody of the song. And Vinnie was really responsive to feedback. They made a couple of tweaks as they were laying down the track. It was really cool to watch.

It was for sure a really... great... Trying to find the right words.

How about this. For Stuart and PJ to ask me to represent them by spending an afternoon with one of their biggest artists was an honor beyond honors.

And Rex was so friendly and gracious. He answered a bunch of questions about his influences and it was cool to learn that he had been introduced to music very early on by his mother.

You know it's great to see him relaxed and focused and happy, making new music.

It was a really awesome day.

I don't know of all the bad things Steve did or has done, I wanted to let everyone know about the where abouts of the bass and to say I'm honored to have participated in the original event in which the club came together to get the bass for Chris Loe and feel honored that I have some of what I would consider extremely good karma and magic in this bass that was given to me as a gift.

As far as Steve goes, I only know what he tells me and that is that he is very ill and seems to be when we have talked or video chatted. I am not privy to all the information you may have.

Thank you for the kind words about myself. Know that I don't want to cause any friction or debate within the club. I merely felt it necessary to speak on this gift I was given and thought it to be a generous kind act, that would allow me to maintain a memory of a wonderful human being....Chris Loe.

Chris, although I hardly knew him as well as Patrick or Sam or some others was always kind to me. He gifted my high school music program a educational copy of protools, an interface, and some small studio speakers. My musicians club at school uses them and all are very grateful. I only hope that Chris is smiling up in Heaven knowing that I have this bass and will play it well in his memory. I only hope to honor his memory every time I touch this instrument.

 \m/

Fantastic! That blue Kramer is def a beaut! This club is full of great people who go above and beyond in every way! :bassist:

If I hadn't just bought a Spector I'd have given you a run on that puppy. That's a sweet bass! Play it and enjoy.

So happy for you.... congrats!!! :D
Thx guys, I love it!
Nice! Glad to spread the love man. Enjoy that beastly bass. It sounds and plays soooooo good!
Oh I will!!! I just hope you dont miss it too much.

On the other topic, I trust and respect what Patrick says, and I truely believe he has ours and Spectors best interest at heart. That said Im happy the bass is with a fellow trusted club member and I give credit to Steve for putting it back in to trusted hands, beyond that I dont know exactly what all transpired exactly and Im sure I dont want to know, but Ill say this I dont agree with saying a person is faking an illness to run a con, unless you have proof that whole statement needs to disappear, its just not right and above who you are and what you represent. I dont know if your right or wrong but a statement like that can be very damaging if your wrong. Just my 2 cents take it for what you will. Now carry on with the the best Bass company in the world....
