The compound in super glue and the fact that it's relatively inert (meaning non-toxic) once it sets, which only takes a few seconds, was the inspiration for a product called Dermabond.

Superglue is cyanoacrylate. And YES. You can use it for shallow, MINOR cuts. But NEVER anything deep.

Dermabond is 2-octyl-cyanoacrylate - and works the same way. And is FDA approved.

Go to your local pharmacy and see if they have any Dermabond. It's also anti-bacterial.

I had sliced off the very tips of two of my toes while in Nicaragua. A missionary nurse superglued the skin (after disinfecting) right back and you would never know if you saw my toes today. O yeah it stings a bit ;)

I too have used super glue, and it works. Fill the gap and put a dab over the top. However, if the cut has any depth I'd think it would heal more properly, and faster in open air. :)
Also, I've only used glue ony fingertips where they contact the string. Since the skin on a knuckle has to stretch, I'd think it may hurt
, superglue or not...

Pretty much back a few years ago I used get bad blistering after playing fours a night and I started using the brush on super glue . I would a couple coats on and be good for the night . Honestly its no different really than what bowlers use when bowling a ton.

Going to do the neck in a faux Wenge/chocolate brown. The wings will get walnut stain, like this. Matte finish. Thanks to Sam, the Spector pimp Godfather for his genius.

Was never a fan of red until this. Love it so far! The E string buzzes on the lower frets, probably cause its so slow. How can I raise it a little?

Loosen the bridge set-screw(on the out side of the bridge) then use the proper size Allen wrench (ibeleive 2mm) to raise the bridge saddle on the E string.
You'll have to check and probably reset the intonation. There should be posts on how to do that here, or if you're not sure of yourself, you can have it done.
If you have trouble and want to do it yourself, pm me, and I can walk you through as long as you have a tuner. :bassist:
You may also have to adjust the neck relief (truss rod) this can also be done at home, or by a pro if you're not comfortable doing it.

Incidentally, depending on how fast JoAnn ships out my new bridge, I will have an extra matte Euro bridge (gold) and the a set of gold Schaller M4 tuners up for grabs shortly. The tuners are kind of pitted and are definitely used but work just fine. PM me if you have a need for either (or both). I'd prefer to keep this stuff in the Club. Gratis, natch. :ninja::bassist:

Ok, here ya go......an "I wish........" thought. SO I saw this rock/metal show last night and none of the bassists played Spectors. The National has a great sound system. Lee can attest to this.....so can Sethro. I saw Fenders, and a couple others and the guy from Killswitch Engage was rocking a black GIbson Explorer...........here's the punch:

Even though the sound guy was very good, I missed the "Spector mid punch........" There ya go, I said it. Don't get me wrong........the sound was good.......but not cutting with the basses. SO......there ya go! Spector related.......in the fact that I some of the players in these four bands had more cut..........especially since there were dual guitars with HIGH GAIN.......

Yeah, the bass seems to be the hardest instrument in a rock band for the sound guy to "get right". Of course a Spector makes it infinitely easier to do that. :D :bassist:

And in Nashville, correct me if I'm wrong, don't even bother showing up for a recording session without a Fender. :rolleyes: Someday they'll catch on. :ninja:

Up here in the wilds of Aberdeen SD, we have four local bands,(all cover bands) that are pretty much the whole local live music scene.
Every few months we all get together with a local venue and have all four each play a set, and do some jamming at no charge to the establishment.
We're doing it again tomorrow night, but there are only three band names on the sign.

The drummer for the non- included bands wife said he was really PO'd at being left out.:bawl:
Little does he know its his surprise BD party and he's playing the opening set:smug: should be fun! It's a great place to play, huge with a big stage,used to be a big box retail building

At the last gathering my Spectors made quite a stir. I think one of the other bassists is getting the itch! :bassist:I guess I beleive in being evangelical about going forth and spreading the Spectorization of SD...

Our own Dave Fowler has been recording in Nashville with his Spector's for years.
