I'm seriously thinking about an ultraviolet NS-2 with an ebony fingerboard. So... I took David's ultraviolet bass body and added the ebony neck from Todd's Purple Daze so I could see what that looks like.

I think I'll go for it! :bassist:

At least that's one way to get my hands on a 9v Haz! :p

Magnificent!!! :D Love the way the ebony FB makes the dark grains pop and the abalone inlays jump out!

Sounds like postal worker moral is in the toilet...:ninja: I know when I visit our little post office in Pellston the 1 postal worker always looks so down, so I try my best to cheer them up. I definitely know what it's like working for the Feds and having your job in the balance from day to day. :scowl: Not a fun place to be...

Well I worked UPS for a few years after high school and if we saw a package with a zip that had no business being in Chicago we would take care of that right away. Prime example - I once saw a package with an origin of Hawaii going to California. And we had it in Chicago. That's not going to be a happy customer. Have to upgrade that to air right away.

I seem to recall there may have been a zip code error on the Forte, so that's why I would find it worrisome it's back on the west coast after so long even though it's destined for the east coast. Mae me wonder if instead of trying to get the right address they're just returning it to sender.

Besides UPS having the highest cost where we live, I've received numerous seriously damaged packages...especially when I owned a business that involved electronics. :ninja:
Bunk, that's some great customer service that you explained. Kudos.
I've had such great customer service with FedEx. Last Dec. I had 2 Basses coming, my Coda and a Fender P, we were going out of town for the month...I called FedEx to reroute both basses, Spector coming from NY of course and bass 2 from Seattle, both arrived timely and undamaged. AND during holiday package mayhem. I was impressed. :smug:

I think black hardware would work better than gold with the ebony fretboard. But here's a curveball - what about chrome?

What about chrome? Hmmmm.... wish I could see that. My thinking is if you go with black then there'll be only two colors to the bass. Ultraviolet and black. But is that best? What say you. (I like that phrase... LOTR fan :D)

Yep, seller apparently put the wrong zip code on the box. I asked he postmaster about the rerouting yesterday and she said based on the last arrival scan it is unlikely that it was east and is now back out west. They really are that freakin' slow.

I think what icebox sais hold true - you want a little more contrast that just black and purple. So with that in mind, I could see the chrome being the better contrast to the ebony board than the gold. Now if it were a BEM board, I think the black hardware would look cool since again you have that contrast.

Man with all the pics and spec ideas gots me jones to order a ns2 . Fortunately I love my two spectors now .plus if I wasn't buying new sound reinforcement for my band I would that money towards it :(

Could we get a good pic of Ice's Coda to see? :D

Just to muddy the waters even more (sorry), Todd mentioned that the gold hardware had a more regal look. I can see that too because purple is considered a "royal" color.

Keep the opinions coming. I love it! :smug:

Hey All-
Last week ebradfordrich posted he had gold euro bridge and tuners he didn't need. When I approached him about buying, he said I could have them! (Thanks Eric!)
Anyway when I get them, I'll have a black bridge and tuners I won't be needing. In the same spirit I'd like to offer them to someone who will use them. Please don't take em to throw in a parts drawer, but any club member that can use either or both is welcome to them after I swap. Justpm me. All of it is in pretty nice condition.
Thanks
Steve :)

Hardware will be going to ynot12.
Glad someone could use it.

Folks here know I am a gold hardware guy through and through. The only Spector I have that doesn't have gold hardware is my Webster since black is stock. And believe me I considered swapping it out!

I love the gold on the ultraviolet and went with that for my build, but I've got a BEM board on it. I think it looks good against the pau ferro too. I only say chrome for the ebony since personally something seems "off" to me with the gold hardware against the black board, at least from the example pic. But it could also look stunning in person. Pics don't always do it justice.

I did a trade from Arizona to NY, and believe it or not, it took me 5 1/2 weeks to receive my bass from Az. I used UPS and he got his in 6 days. What's wrong with this picture, I will never use USPS again. I could have driven there and picked it up faster. LOL.
