I have long fingers and like the 1.625" neck on the P-bass and my NS2a, the Jazz bass with the 1.5" neck size is small and cramps my hands if I play it for all of the 40 plus songs we cover....what is the Coda 4 size at the nut?

HUSKY123. Thanks for the great answers. Your take on the piezo bridge sounds familiar. From the little I've seen posted.

If you don't mind another question or 2,
Did you get fretted. Not sure if that wood effect the piezo any. Is the bass body bigger/smaller than a Jazz? I was just trying an ibanez sr370f fretless tonight. Love the tone and feel of the neck. The body is a bit small and thinner than I like to play. I've never played a Spector and don't have a feel for the body size.

I'm also curious what the semi-acoustic body will do to the tone. I've never played one. Thanks a bunch.

Just wanted to thank PhatBasstard for being so cool and hooking me up with a bass I have been trying to find for years. I am going to have it restored to the way it was when it was on tour with Tim Gaines from Styper.

As I've heard many times for several guys here on the forum, the people here are amazing! Long Live the Spector Forum!!!!

Also, get the abalone inlays instead of MOP. They really pop on the ebony fretboards.

Big + 1 here. Obviously I don't think you'd want the black MOP on ebony or even pau ferro, but regular MOP, while nice looking, doesn't draw the eye like the abalone does.

This was a couple pages back. The build was a US bolt-on, can you choose abalone if you don't get a BEM neck on the bolt-on?

No problem, glad to help. I bought the fretted version. The body is definitely smaller than a Jazz bass. The neck feels very similar even despite having a 1.57" nut. Update, I A/B it with my acoustic bass last night and was able to get it very close in tone. Just don't expect the Spectorcore to have much volume totally acoustically. It really has to be plugged it.

Yeah, a good example would be, the price list for the bolts gives the impression only certain finishes are available, but you can pretty much get whatever finish they would do on a neck-thru. I was able to get John's "Gazoo" green for my fretless build.

Gazoo... I had to Google that. Haven't watched the Jetsons since the EARLY 60's! :hiding:

One weird thing I noticed on their site - several of the US BEM basses on there seem to have Schaller straplocks installed, not Dual Design. I wonder why that is. I thought Woodstock changed over to Dual Design before BEM was being produced.
