I had a mtd once that had a skinny front to back neck....I'm not talking side to side skinny I'm talking front of finger board to back middle of neck skinny...lol

I haven't played an American Fender Jazz deluxe or a Coda 4 so I am not able to compare or comment to those basses guys but...What I can say is this...between the Ian Hill I had, Forte 5 and my Coda 5XL Deluxe, I've been getting some serious skinny necks on these basses. :cool:Maybe it's been the luck of the draw??? Don't know but I'm loving them! :D:bassist: I'll take some measurements of the Coda's neck front to back and post them. I'll look up my old Forte 5's also for comparison. :)

I've had 4 black Spectors so far, plus a black Fender P...but I'm a bit OCD about wiping down and polishing my basses so I don't mind at all. The gorgeous deep shine is worth it for me. :D

It just felt right and sounded so killer with the B3K and my GK MB112ii. Now at home, I'm back to the US. Do you guys experience the same kind of thing?

Also, following up on the hardware discussion the other day, I just want to throw an unsolicited comment that was made about the gold hardware on my Black Cherry LX. He said, "I don't normally like gold, but on that bass, it looks amazing. Looks very regal!" :D

That's really cool about the song writing! :bassist: I've not had that experience with any of my USA Spector basses...especially my Coda 5XL:bassist:

So I used it for practicing and playing with Jammit too unless I needed 6 strings for some of the DT stuff.

Now that the 6XL is here, I am planning to play that as much as possible. Still going to take the Webster on the road next month, but soon I should have one of the US basses as my main player in the band.

Hey Bunk...I know that you've been wanting to try out a USA Coda 5XL...We are driving by Chicago on Interstate 80 Friday on our way out to Utah to see our son. If you're not too far off the beaten path maybe we can meet? It'll be time to get out of the car for lunch break about then. :) I'm taking my Coda with me anyways...be a great chance for you to try it out...I'll even pop on some nickels for ya. :D Let me know! :bassist:

So.....need some help here folks:
I just sold my Samick Era NS2A locally so I have some bass budget free and I'm looking at a new Rex Professional 5 or the Coda Pro 4 which will be available in a few weeks.
Now I've never played a Jazz style bass regularly, owned a few MIA and MIM Fender basses over the years, but really I've played Spectors almost exclusively for 25+ years live and in the studio but the Coda intrigues me.
The Rex 5 is brand new and I can pick it up for a ridiculously low price and I have owned a few Rex basses over the years so I know what to expect. I don't NEED a 5 string as most of what I'm playing now is classic rock cover stuff but I don't have a 5 in the arsenal at the moment, so it would fill a spot not already filled in the collection.
The Coda however is intriguing because I've never met a Spector I didn't like, and I'm curious to see what it's like.
Any of you that own the Coda USA basses - were you Spector players that were Spector players before or did the Coda bring you over to the double S?
How much different is the neck from the other Spector basses you played/owned? How do you find moving from the NS style basses to the Coda?
I'm going to pull the trigger soon (before I find somewhere else to spend the $$) so any input or opinion would be appreciated.

It here is a green one at my local music shop. I always play it whenever I'm there. Sounds phenomenal! The combination of the Piezo and the single pickup yields a variety of very usable tones. From ultra modern to classic. If you're on the fence about it, don't hesitate. It will please your musical soul tremendously.

Hey guys I think im gonna sell my red ns 2000 4. I have and am currently looking at another spector . Im not gonna post in classifieds just in here. Its in mint condition very few scratches. Kinda on fence moving it as its my main gig bass at moment. Id love someone in new england buying bass so I dont have to deal with shipping. If interested pm me. Want it to go to a spector guy. Ty
