Wow, really sorry to hear that, Jody. Candidly, it's one of my biggest fears. I'm a writer by trade and not being able to type, much less play bass anymore is a truly horrifying thought. Sending some good vibes your way.

Big +1. I'm going to school for jazz studies in the fall... If I loose a finger....
All sorts of positivity and good vibes going your way. I can't imagine what that's gotta be like...

So what has two thumbs and has Coda gas now? THIS GUY!

Mike (iceboxbass) just stopped by with his Coda 5XL for me to try. Really nice guy and a great bass! Nicest jazz I've played for sure. It's got something the Fender jazzes I've tried don't have.

Thanks again Mike for stopping by!

I knew this was going to happen when he offered to stop by. ;)

This is just too cool! :hyper: Pictures are required gentlemen. :bassist:
It's here:
This is the pic of it that was sent from Spector. Forte 4.
Brand new w/case. Has the Aquilar OBP-2 in a vol/blend configuration. Extra nut as requested as this bass is probably going to get tuned to C standard.

Drop shipped from Spector per Todd Cooke in trade for the Tim Gaines NS2JJ. Thanks guys. :bassist:

Here is the Tim Gaines bass as I recieved it (stripped) and what it looked like in it's glory days.
Todd had me send it directly to the guy that painted it (and all Stryper guitars) to have it restored.

Todd comes through again.

Spector Brothers, Thank you for all the kind and thoughtful comments it is a great club !

Mikey Our lead guitarist he doing good I went up to see him and he is banged up pretty bad and as some may know already he did lose his middle and index finger on his left hand (Fretting Hand). The first thing he said to me was " I'm not gonna be able to play again you under stand this passion Jody " and I told him don't worry about that right now you could be dead. and in humor I said Sh!@ you can still play Bass...lol But anyways thank you fellas I told him you guys were sending him good vibes.

Spector Brother, Jody

Your made it home safely or is it still on the road?
Even though it was only going (back) to California, and only shipped ground (figuring two or three days max), UPS had it there overnight!!!
I shipped on Tuesday afternoon and it was there Wednesday. I've never had nothing but great service in both directions from UPS and it's why I continue to use them as my prefered carrier.

Nice!! Definately want to hear your review.
Neck is much thicker than I expected. Just like the stolen Coda I found in the pawn shop a while back. Much thicker than my Euro's and Kramer NS2. Very similar to my Steinberger XL2. I don't mind it though.
Can't really comment on the OBP-2 yet, but it sounds good in my practice room. Will probably bump it up to 18 volts eventually (more for the EMG's).
Oddly, they were supposed to send an extra B-E-A-D nut as I planned to set this one up for C standard. Even though the bass showed up with E-A-D-G strings on it, the larger grooved nut is already on the bass with the extra nut looking to be the regular one. Weird.
But thats OK as I don't have to switch them out now.
Was able to drop the action significantly and it still doesn't really buzz. The C standard (C-F-Bb-Eb with .120, .100, .080 and .065 strings) at 34" seems to be working just fine.
These junky Dunlop straplocks gotta' go. Schallers all the way.

Man, he was skinny even amongst 80's hair bands!!

Cool bass!
That's why I didn't take a picture of me wearing the bass as I....um...I...uh.....
....the bass would have looked...."smaller".

Sweet! :bassist::bassist:
Todd comes through again.
Yes he does!
