Well guys keep your fingers crossed, im hoping baby #2 comes today, we are alittle overdue but anxious to meet the new little one. We are hoping to go natural again and no we dont know what we are having. Its like someone is sending you a Spector but didnt tell you what it is.:D :hyper: Ive got my little drummer on board already or as he likes to call it Sticks, now I need someone to tickle some Ivory and I'll be all set, id settle for a Fiddler though as well. Just thought id share a peek into my personal life, i really only ever talk to you guys about the Spectors, but some of you in here feel like extended family. ~Eric~

Good Luck!!!!

Good luck, you may want to try holding your NS2 in in front of her belly. That should give some excitement to the baby to want to come out ASAP :)

Congrats Eric! Love the old school mentality on the baby.

Number 2 whew you got more guts than me ...lol I was one and done ...

Here's the vintage Dimarzio Jazz pickup and what I'm pretty sure is the mm114 HAZ copy preamp. Apparently it came out of an ibanez so I'm not 100% sure it is what I hope it is, but it sure as hell looks like one lol I just hope all the cap and resistor values are the same.

I have a TonePump pre just in case this one doesnt sound like it should, and a vintage Dimarzio precision pickup on the way.

My old Brooklyn should be back in action soon!

Wow. Good luck to you and your wife, Eric! Exciting times. Enjoy! :D

So while I have my Legend 5 torn apart for refinishing. (I'm changing the finish from gloss to matte/satin) I have to say for my Spector gateway bass it was a hell of a deal. If I remember right I bought this used from GC on a whim for $300. It came with an MM114 preamp that now resides in my NS2A. It also came with active EMG DC40 pick-ups. I should have it back together next week-end with a trim-tonepump (at 18V) as the pre. This should hold me over until that Euro someday......

Congrats, hope the healthy baby comes soon. :) My wife went natural with our son too. I hope to see pictures of your new addition. The only thing better than a new Spector is a new family member :)

Hey guys!
So i just got a Darkglass B7k. I'm having mixed feelings about it. Not sure if i just need to give it more time, but as of now...i'm going to sell it. I definitely like it better than a Sansamp, but i just get WAY better direct tones with my Axe Fx. Here is an A/B comparison of the two. Sorry for the sloppy playing and the riffs. I just threw it together pretty quickly.

What do you guys think?

I think I might prefer the BK7 myself. It seems to have a little more down low and seems to be a little looser if that's a word. Maybe just not as focused if that makes sense. The both sound great and I'm listened at low volume due to people still sleeping in the room next to me.

And your quick riffs and sloppy playing would be track one on any music I could put out. It sounded great.:bassist:

Awesome! Being a father is the best thing a man can be. Congrats on the new addition.

I'd like to introduce you to my 1987 NS2A, no serial #, originally came with a US HAZ pre, and has been my longest relationship ever - Marriage #1 lasted 4 years, oldest child is 19 now, and this bass has been with me for more than 3000 shows, seen pretty much every corner of Canada and a good part of the USA during that time. On her second set of frets, and the lovely red Schaller tuners were installed in 1993 or 1994 courtesy of The Scorpions guitar tech while on tour as a support band on the Scorps / Alice Cooper tour.
Been lost, found, dropped, used as a crowd control device, stolen (and recovered) twice and seen things that no bass should see, but it plays and sounds like no other bass I've owned in 30 years of playing bass and I've owned dozens of Spectors, Warwicks, MTD basses, and a couple of USA Fender basses plus tons more.
Just chiming in, even with all of these gorgeous USA Spectors here, I still think she's a beauty.
