Im serious but it will be next year. The wife will kill me if I buy a 3rd Spector this year
I understand. Whenever you get ready give me a yell.
I'm planning on coming to the store Saturday to look around....maybe bring #813 with me.
And the "Ice Blue" Tour continues. When do the tour shirts go on sale.![]()

Interesting but it makes sense the FM would only append the ones showing the figured maple.
I'm still trying to figure out what my fretless will be designated as. I thought it would be an NS-5H2, with the H2 being for two humbuckers I assume. But I ordered mine with two MM pickups like Colin Edwin's fretless. And I saw one with those pickups on Bass Central and it's called an NS-5MM. So now I'm thinking that's what mine will be called. I don't think the fretless adds anything different to the model.
Here is a pic of the back of my fretless headstock. It appears that neither the 'EX' top nor the lack of frets makes any difference in the model/serial number.

I'm going to bet yours will be a NS-5MM2....but to be honest, I'm usually wrong!![]()
See, I find that odd yours is 2J5. Since they do 5H2, I would think it would be 5J2. Also, the one on Bass Central had 2 MM's but was just a 5MM. So we'll see.
My thought on Brad's pic is that (and Patrick or anyone correct me if I'm wrong) there is no model suffix to denote fretless, and maybe the EX is left off because when Stuart signs the necks they aren't mounted on anything yet. So he leaves it off. Maybe the full model designation can't be determined until the bass is finished and ready to ship?
I mentioned that when I got it, and I'm pretty sure it was JPS who basically said that Stuart just kinda signs them in passing and makes the occasional 'error'
I actually like that about Stuart...just makes each one that much more unique!![]()
Yeah I'm sure he's got more on his mind than the next oddball model number!![]()
Anybody remember this little....uh...."oversite" I uncovered a couple of years ago? (see thumbnails).Just remember that even though Stuart is casual about this, once you get the bass you MUST always refer to your bass with that model number or you'll anger the Spector Gods!![]()

Wish I could be there.

Two SSD era NS6 basses, one green, one red, both labeled.....#20 (#020).
After several emails with PJ, I don't think we ever determined if there were still 26 total (the previous count listed) in the SSD era (meaning there probably wasn't a #19 or #21) or there were actually 27 due to two of them being labelled #20.
If #19 and #20 both surface, I think we can assume 27 was the correct count of these.![]()
I would go for a GB7 because.......Anyone know what Hipshot tuner is correct for a Legend ?
The tuners on my older (Gold hardware) Legend 6 look to be Gotoh or copies (there are no markings, but I've had GB7's on other basses) of GB7's.The Spector site just says Legend style. They do look almost identical to the Gotoh GB7's used on the US basses, but hopefully someone who has actually used a detuner on a Legend can chime in.
Ooops! DOH!I know for a fact there are (2) #004 RXT basses. Mine in bahama blue and the one that Bass Central has in Coral that Rex signed at the 2013 NAMM show. Hey, mistakes happen.

If anyone is interested, I have a brand new Spector US18v system that has never been installed. Happy to keep it in the Spector Club. $175 shipped. PM me if interested.
whats the configuration of that? Two volumes/tone/bass?
I am actually off for the holidays but let me know what time you will be there and I will meet you there. Let me know if you want me to bring anything from my collection for you to check out. Feel free to PM me.
Jeff, I think you just need to hope a plane Saturday morning and lets make a day of it.![]()
