I think you're going to like the REDDI much better than the U5, I did.

I hope so. I don't dislike the U5, but using it by itself is not getting me the sound I'm looking for. I'm considering keeping it for other applications but realistically if the Reddi blows me away, I will likely sell it to offset the cost.

That's what I did, and eventually sold the REDDI after I got the Monique but if you are just recording the REDDI is all you will need. I thought it was a great inprovement over the U5.

I really enjoyed my U5.. I actually used it live as my only preamp with a qsc power amp....but I like good clean tone with mega headroom.....lol

That's what I did, and eventually sold the REDDI after I got the Monique but if you are just recording the REDDI is all you will need. I thought it was a great inprovement over the U5.

The Monique is more of a preamp, no? I'm pretty happy with the GK, but I've considered bringing out a different DI for the house.

It is, It was originally designed just for the studio. I find it is fat and warm like the REDDI with the benefits of more mids and a Bandx eq and a Sensitivity rectifer tube. Great for lower tunings to bring out the clean bottom and articulation. Driving it hard into the power amp can give you good tube grind and as I learn more about it I use the B3K less and less. Especially since I got the Ulta Amber. Something about that bass is different than the others (in a awesome way).

I feel the same way with the Ultraviolet, it's different...powerful, loud, full of tone. I have to tame it a little...but...a lot of people commented on the sound of that bass last Saturday at the show and loved its tone!

In with my svelte, new-to-me rebop4 EX. She's in remarkably good shape with only minor pre-disastering. You never know what you're going to get with eBay. Currently strung up BEAD, which I may or may not keep. Some work needs to be done on the nut, regardless. I'll give a full report later with some better pics.

I'll ask you too then - did you have to do anything to the bridge to fit the B string through? Any of the 4 string Euro bridges I had would not fit a 130 non-tapered string.

Yes it did take about two swipes on each side with a file to fit the string in there.The string that is in there now is a .125.I have done this on about four spectors so far and every one of them needed to be filed.If my memory serves me correct,i believe the A string slot needed filed to fit the .105 in it.

That is a cool Euro, Zitch has a cool one for sale also....great basses on the market that's for sure!

I think I seen a 700 on ebay but it might have ended, unless your saying you need to play a few more high paying gigs first??? lol

I already have a B3K and have tried the VMT as well, so not that.

You're in the right ballpark in a way.

I was going to just say what it is since it's now at my local Fedex office waiting for me, but this is fun.

I'll just say I hope to **** a "brick" when I hear it.

Thank you - As long as you don't do anything crazy with the file they are pretty easy to conceal on black hardware.I have never done it on gold hardware,and i don't think i would

It is a sweet bass,but i purchased peledogs rebop mm and i have a rule i try to keep for myself,no more than three basses at a time,so this one had to go.I also have another rebop for sale in the classifieds and i will probably have to leave one of my Euro 4lx 35's go to help fund my very first U.S. build.

There's gonna be a Spector Club cage match for that one! I've never been much of a natural/oil finish type guy but when I saw the refin on the infamous double box...well, I'm a changed man! The figuring on that bass up close looks like a elevation map. Incredible.
