That's what I did, and eventually sold the REDDI after I got the Monique but if you are just recording the REDDI is all you will need. I thought it was a great inprovement over the U5.

I am dying to try the Monique; I'm curious to hear how it does in a metal song, especially with a Spector!
The selection of Monique sound samples available online is poor.

There's gonna be a Spector Club cage match for that one! I've never been much of a natural/oil finish type guy but when I saw the refin on the infamous double box...well, I'm a changed man! The figuring on that bass up close looks like a elevation map. Incredible.

I've always had a thing for an natural, oil finished Spector, so I don't blame ya! ...but if the that time does come, count me in for the cage match!

What kind of sound samples are you looking for mic'd or direct? We are recording some new song ideas and I can put some together for you. I can cover a metal song also if you have one that you would like me to do.

This was a live snippet of some stoner rock ideas we were throwing around. Besides the vocal mic's we had a NT1A mic next to the guitar cabs and about 5 feet from the PH 412 bass cab. So it's not the best but I didn't think the bass would cut that much in just a room mic that far away.

Thank you - As long as you don't do anything crazy with the file they are pretty easy to conceal on black hardware.I have never done it on gold hardware,and i don't think i would

Indeed. I had to loosen the B string to lift it up to even be able to tell. I will probably replace the nut but that's just a personal preference kind of thing. I like brass nuts. (insert beavis laugh)

It is a sweet bass,but i purchased peledogs rebop mm and i have a rule i try to keep for myself,no more than three basses at a time,so this one had to go.I also have another rebop for sale in the classifieds and i will probably have to leave one of my Euro 4lx 35's go to help fund my very first U.S. build.

That's kind of funny because I almost bought that MM from Dave myself. I kind of wanted to dip my toe into the bolt-ons before really committing, ya know?

And to any of my Spector brethren, you can be assured a smooth transaction. As awful as my last go-around was with that Forte 5, this one was totally easy.

alright Spector peeps...here we go...these are my top options if I decide to break the bank on this US BO 5MM build. This would also have the ebony fingerboard and a matte finish.

The other option is go for a more stock combo similar to the six string US BO in the classifieds which looks looks to be a classy quilted maple over mahogany/matte finish.

I am really torn over this decision because I'm not sure I can justify the upgrade charges since, from my understanding, there won't be much of a tonal difference between the two.

The owl was the first thing I noticed. ...although I'm actually liking #1 quite a bit now that I've had a chance to look at them side by side. ...and actual size instead of on my phone!

This is a tough decision, especially because the fretless is so unique and I've really been wanting an equally as unique fretted.

You always want or need to do what is right financially first, don't set yourself up to lose out on something....but....if things fall into place and you have the desire to put together something that is beautiful, something you will enjoy looking at (because you said it will sound the same) then do yourself a favor or reward yourself for all of the hard work you have done in life.
