Classy top on that one, Love it!

Great build!

Rock on Brother! Really its this club that keeps me on Talkbass.

WoW, that'll get some panties off!

Zitch....Your attitude and kindness is a true example of the reason why I hang out with the Spector tribe, this positive approach to life and towards others is fantastic and it flows from a lot of the guys in this club....thanks for being a leader!

Carey

Got the Black Cherry NS2 (Scarlet) packed up and heading off to play some music...to early to be getting up but what the heck!

I asked Mike if I should post these pictures but I can't resist, getting excited to see the end result but I like the progress pictures of the build as well....this is so cool, nice leather work!

Sell it and buy a Coda.

Let's see, sell the Aerodyne, which the market at the moment is barely $200, if that, and then save up for the next eternity to come up with other $1500, which my wife would never allow me to spend that much on something that isn't related to updating something around the house OR spend a mere fraction of that to mod the Aerodyne.

I can mod the Aerodyne all day long and still easily keep it below her financial radar. And if it get's screwed up, who cares, it's a dime a dozen Fender.

I'm trying to keep this within the realm of possibility, besides the Codas are dual jazz p'ups, the Aerodyne is a PJ config, which I very much prefer. I'm sure Spector would build a custom Coda with PJ p'ups, but again, there's that money thing.

This is a Spector thread; just trying to keep things on track.
I'm sure there are 100s of Fender threads on TB where you can discuss the $200, dime-a-dozen bass.
I understand why there are so many Fender owners, as they are a cheap and easy entry into owning a bass guitar. However, I never really understood why the "F-army" are so militant about their brand, given the "nothing special" nature of them, and they questionable quality of the product.
Filing this under "D" for "Different strokes for different folks".

^his original question was about installing a tone pump in his bass. seems Spector related to me. lets not run people off. we're all about tolerance here.

Yeah, I'm not sure where his hostility is coming from. A couple threads back he went off when I said I thought the Alex Webster non-blood version appealed to me more so than the splatter, which does look bad ass. It's not like I said that everyone who has a blood splatter is wrong or dumb. In the right setting, like say Cannibal Corpse, it's absolutely perfect.

I would like to say that I have no hostility towards anyone in this club or on TB as a whole for that matter, and if anyone doesn't like me or what I post on here, then simply shake your head and move on.

And just in case anyone wants to refute my Spector club status, here's my membership ticket:

(just reinstalled a TonePump, thanks for the swap jbravo, it works great!)

Ah. You're in the same ship I sail in. Here's what you could do. Save up forever in paypal, and when you have enough money, get your stack and tell her its a $200 bass. She'll never know the difference. Lol

Man, that's good stuff. That's been my gig for years. Works with my motorcycle addiction too.:D

Amen! Since I will be getting a raise within the next month or so, I may just start putting in that savings fund again for a euro ;) Then I could sell my ns94 and put that towards a euro :) I like that idea. Maybe save $100 a month. That just might work.

No hostility here. I just suggested you purchase a Coda. You went off on your personal finances and relationship.

I get you - we all work within our prescribed budgets. I'm glad you are working on a fix for the Fender, and I hope it works for you.

Regarding my Alex Webster sig bass, your description of the blood spatter was "cheesey". That's your opinion, and it was one I didn't appreciate. No big deal.
