Just wondering how everyone has their Tone Pump set ? I think I need to back mine off a bit. Im over loading the input on my 800RB no matter were I set the input volume.

I have run all my TP's a little under 50%, but I know some guys have it as low as 30%. I don't think anyone has left it much higher than 50%.

I just realized, when I sell my red 5LX, I will have no TP-equipped Spectors left. Kind of weird since I do like the preamp.

I have a question for you guys too... I'm having an issue with my SVT 810 Heritage. When I plug in my GK 1001rb and play the output is low, the speakers sound like they are farting out (technical term). when I switch the speakon to my svt 810e classic it sounds great, more volume, better tone. This is a new development as I have prefered the heritage over the classic since I got it, please help... or point me in the right direction.. thanks!

I have heard that each set of 2 speakers are divided in this cabinet and the signal when plugged into 'full range' runs into a crossover to divide, if your second cabinet has the same panel you can possibly switch to check if it is a crossover defect (I'm just guessing because I have not seen one of these cabinets so you give a local music shop a call to test for this). I have a local guy who has fixed one of my speaker cabinet crossovers and does great work if you need someone I can hook you up????

You know, we did the whole metal tribute band for a decade. At that point, we all burned out. Thus, the original project that is recording now with all the same members. I am looking forward to gigging w no costume!!!! ; )

However, this bass gets no love these days as we are tuned down to C. Only using my 435 LX's.

In with, in my opinion, one of the most underrated Spectors. NS-2JA-R. Currently rocking an Aguilar OBP-2. Waiting on that magical day when PJ Rubal tells me that he has shipped me a HAZ circuit. Yeah I said HAZ. I'm not saying Spector US 9 volt circuit until they send me one.

Agreed! I miss my JAR, even though I love it's replacement.

You know, we played in "D" in the cover band and it was fine with a set of 110's. however, C is a whole other story. I can use 115's with the 35" scale. I'd have to go even heavier with the 34". I just hate floppy strings.

Mine is set very low, (20-25 % ?) and my tone controls are set to about the middle. But bear in mind that the sound I like is very high-mid orientated, and the high mids are also very emphasized on the amp. (Shuttle 9.0)

Oh yeah. Heavier strings would be a must. And I too don't like floppy strings... or anything else for that matter.

Hey Joe, will you have to reroute the control cavity to fit a haz in there?

Thanks, I really need to check all the connections and what not.... but having multiple cabs takes the priority off lol

I have multiple cabinets as well and was able to switch my back panels (loaded with the crossover) from one to the other to test...this eliminated having to chase wires or speakers, the guy I sent it to rebuilt the defective crossover and now I want him to match the second one I have at home and use for practice because he did such a nice job.

Just realized my humble performer is something of an oddity.

I was doing a little research, and I found out that the original line of Indonesian performers had one piece maple necks with fender style bridges. The new ones have 5 piece necks, and a higher mass bridge on them.

My bass is some sort of transitional bass then, because it has the newer bridge on it and the older neck.

I doubt it has any affect on its rarity though.

It makes it really cool in my opinion.

I like the new Performer bridge much better. It's much more like the Legend bridge now.

Is yours black or red (your bass)?

I still have to say that probably the neck on the NS-2JA-R is still the most comfortable Spector neck I've ever played. Something about it feels faster and thinner.

I LOVED the neck on my NS-2JA-R.

And your bass is so totally wicked, tricked out in the customer color you've refinished it in. You're is by far the sexiest NS-2JA-R I've seen. Ever.

Here's my .02. Set the controls to max and turn the pump down until you can play normally , driving the pre to taste. That way you have all settings 100% useable. You can then use the pickup height as a fine adjustment. So you can control the drive / distortion with your right hand at will. Adjusting the pups will also get you closer or further from the us9v tone.

I run mine about 30-40% at18v.

I run mine at around 40-50%, but I roll off both EQ pots for delicious tonepump mids.
