I've heard of the tuner swap needed only once. Different straps more often. But truthfully, most people people don't have a problem with neck dive. Not all basses are for everybody. A lot of us modify our basses to taste. Some say this model is not for me and buy another.

Hmmm, no issues with neck dive on my rebop either. I know that some have swapped out the tuners. Some of the links below may be useful. Also, if you need to borrow a peghole reamer, I can send you mine.

"These [Hipshot] tuners weigh 1.8 oz. each, compared to approx 2.3 oz. for a sealed Gotoh and 3.5 oz. for a Schaller style tuners."

You could definitely shave off some weight with a tuner swap.

I don't think my listing is negative. It's pretty matter-of-fact. I don't think that reflects on the club at all. If it makes me individually look bad, so be it. If someone wants to blow out their bass for a low price, that's their business. I just want people looking at my listing to understand mine won't be priced that way. I think a lot of buyers wait out the inevitable price drops. I'm just letting them know they won't be coming. Saves us all time. :)

We are all looking for what we think is a good deal. People have the right to offer and reject offers.

If someone makes a low offer that is unwanted the seller can simply delete or kindly respond "no."

Let's not get too hung up on feelings. This is business. I doubt any buyer or seller is out to insult or upset someone.

Bunk, I was not referring to you or your listing. I refer to others (I didn't name names on purpose) posting on someone else's classified listing and being negative. Maybe it's just me. :ninja:

Bumping a sale thread by commenting on what a great price compared to past market value is not negative. That's why I usually only comment on people that I have delt with or know through the forum.

Not hung up on feelings myself. This is more about the perception of what these basses are worth. I'd like to help reverse the perception these basses are worth only so much. People are free to try and low ball, but if enough sellers are willing to hold out, the prices will go up. Because one thing I know for sure - people want to play these basses. They kick ass.

That was exactly the reason why I didn't buy early 2000s NS-5H2 one day. Neck dive was horrible. The bass MUST balance good on any strap otherwise you'd keep your left hand supporting the neck instead of playing...To prove this neck-dive trend with BO 5ers I visited local Spector dealer and tested brand new Spector BO 5er ther...the same. And yes, I can't get it either why Spector team have been living with such issue all this time. I've been playing NT Spectors for quite long already and their balance is perfect.

Interesting - I'll make sure I'm careful when the fretless comes in. It will be a studio bass mostly anyway.

My bolt-on Rebop 5 also balances great.

I seem to be stepping on the toes of people I didn't intend to be part of this and am not being heard by those I did. Since I'm not going to call out anyone specifically...

I have played the euro neck thru's and they have a little weight to them but they feel great to me (nice and balanced). The reason I got the USA bolt on is because it was used and the price was low. I think I will return this one and wait for a chance to pick up a used Euro neck thru.

I know others may not agree, but I find it ridiculous that a bass at this price and quality level has this issue.
