I have owned several other later model (1988-1990) NS2A basses that had a more sharp, defined volute and I had plenty of issues travelling and gigging with them, so much so that I traded 2 of them after a west coast gig when the humidity wreaked havoc on the neck.

I have had mine almost as long and can't believe how true it has held, I do get some variation but never more than .015" and that might be how I take the measurement! lol

PJ can tell you the year if your interested but I'm thinking the higher 8106 might be a 1990, [email protected] can see if my guess is right!

After so many years browsing through this site with apprehension towards registering, I finally succumbed last month. I was "almost" GAS free until I joined. Now, watching so many beautiful basses, I have finally decided to do what I always dreamed of for the last 18 years, which is getting a green bass. Not just any bass of course. A Spector Euro 4. My ever so wonderful wife gave me the green light (no pun intended) and I am hoping to add a 3rd Spector to my collection eventually. So thank you guys! :D

A superb choice. I heart mine. :D

I see that you have uncovered the emerald one that I had prior to swampy:

Bass Central also has this one if you prefer the newer LX style (top w/sandwich rather than the solid maple wings on the older Euros.)

I can take one when I get home later this evening but to let you know ahead of time, the 1987 no serial number bass that I have doesn't have a milling/volute (hump as some call it) and its just the neck running into the back of the headstock. I seen a later model NS2A at a swap meet and I think it was numbered in the 7000's which had a small 'hump' but not as pronounced as the NS2 basses that I have....hope this helps!

Yeah, I was eyeing your old bass. :) If I can't get it for any reason (logistics), I was eyeing that green one from Bass Central as well. Actually, I've been checking it out for months. :D

It was super-smooth with the aggie preamp. I'd probably still have it had I not needed the funds to acquire swampy.

And speaking of swampy, I managed to trace her lineage back to Japan at some point prior to 2005. I'm thinking that she was a special order for either an individual or a japanese shop based on those luscious wings.

mine is NS 1470 i think mine is the not sharp volute and i'm keeping it as it brings the tunder...:bassist:
