The eBay misinformation continues here:

Korean made "Europe Series Doug Wimbish" - unfortunately the Behringer decal option on the back of the bass is no longer offered on the Korean Wimbish models...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Spector-4-S...2-/331026498056?pt=Guitar&hash=item4d12b78208

What's worse is the seller is linking to the actual Wimbish Euro LX Signature model page from the Spector site for info on this bass.

$36 for a Wimbish? I'll take that gamble, even if it is a fake! lol The tuners aren't even wound right!!

EDIT: I wanted to see how high the bid went before it would tag me as the current leader. $76. lol Now, here's hoping someone outbids me. >.<

That is an old legend model... if it goes cheap enough that will be a cool bass... I might have to keep my eye on it and match my guitarist :)

The older 3 band Legends are pretty nice basses, I really like the set neck Legend customs, wish I still had mine. But a long way from a Wimbish at any rate. The seller obviously isn't a musician judging from their recent items sold and other items available, however if anyone that doesn't know better bids on this thinking it is a Euro bass they'll be very disappointed.

Yeah, I know. :P I retracted my bid just on the basis that I won't buy from intentional scammers.

Next time your in a position like that, someone just may strike you over the head with his ns94, switch basses with you, and I'll be enjoying me a new badass ns2. :ninja: Ultraviolet one too.:hiding::bassist:
LOL....oooops, crash...bang!
more ultra
The hardest thing about doing that show was dealing with the photographer stopping me while I needed to get things ready....like...."hey, let me get a picture of that bass" when I should have been ready to perform! lol

Dang Mike! What's that repair gonna end up costing?

Not sure yet. ......

Sorry to hear about that mess...kudo's on your engineering of the extractor. That is very cool...hope I never need it. :ninja:

Very cool:bassist:

Thanks...I was really hoping it would do the trick. And my bet it would have- under normal circumstances.......

Looks like you're in the same boat as my ReBop. :( We're currently lifting the fingerboard, so we can cut & pull the rod.

Hopefully not any more than I'm paying to have the same work done to my 'Bop.

Actually, because of your post I asked about lifting just the end of the fingerboard off and not removing the whole thing. He's gonna let me know.

When I got the bass, it was cool. Played it for a bit and oh sweet Lord does it freakin' sound good!
But it was set up with higher action than I like and there was more relief than I have.
I went to adjust the truss rod and it did flatten out the neck a bit. But it turned VERY hard. I let it settle and tried again. a little more then just wouldn't budge.
So, I backed it off and that when things got all goofy with it.
So here I sit waiting on it to be hopfully fixed soon.

I'm in so far I'd guess at least $150 in bench time alone.
But Tom is a super good guy and if he gets stuck and can't do anything, I doubt he'll charge me more than a 6 pack! ;)

I really love this bass, but it's not my absolute favorite. As for the sound, I don't really feel like it lost any tone from the Kahler being installed. I e compared it with my blue '86, & it sounds really close. I do have a recording of it. I used it to track a song for one of my old bands. i thought it tracked well. Here's a link to it.
