I've sold my Aguilar GS412 / TCE Blacksmith rig and bought an Aggie DB212 to pair with the Shuttle. Now my rig is half the size with almost as much power and just as much tone. Rocks to high heaven. :bassist:

Been eyeing yours in the classifieds. If they have them at Bass San Diego when I take the Euro in for a setup, I'll test drive one and we might have to talk turkey :)

Great cab. You can find lighter cabs but that's secondary to tone and the DB212 has a nice mid forward tone. I use a TCE RS210 for my "lounge" pickup gigs but no more than that. But this DB212 really steps out. "In your face" rock and roll with no problem (which is what my main band does). Of course it's sweet for laid back music too. ;) Just sit back and enjoy the tone. :smug: It's a great match for our Spectors.

I would go with one of the GK's from your description. I was going to pick up a MB500 until a used Ampeg PF-500 fell into my lap for really cheap. I thought I would try it out since my rack uses a SVP-Pro. The Ampeg PF-500 does the warm, round Ampeg sound well, but will not get the grindy overdriven tube break-up of my SVP. The PF-500 makes a pretty good practice/small gig amp though. But the GK is 1/2 the size and I think the power ratings are more truthful. I think down the road I will look at the GK MB500 myself.

The power rating on the PF-500 is spot on. The problem? Most people run it into an 8Ohm cab, cutting it to 350W.
It's true that it doesn't get grindy, but it's got a great tone & a lot of power when paired with a 4Ohm setup. :)

That being said, I'm willing to trade mine for an SVT-450 :P I'll even trade you my Hartke 410XL if you have the matching SVT 4x10 cab!

Agreed! When I run into both my cabs dropping it to a 4 ohm load it does much better. But if I'm bringing both my cabs, I'm bringing my rack. FWIW My small cab is a fEARful 12/6, so as a single cab/small gig solution it works great with enough power. So I guess it was unfair comparison when I'm used to having around 800W on tap for that cab when using my rack. That said the PF-500 does have a great tone to it.

I have played/owned many korean and czech made Spectors. At the moment my 2 main gigging bassed are a NS crfm and a legend 4x... I love them both and the legend really is a great bass. They are built well and sound great.

How good are the stock pickups? I have never used EMG Hz so far. Right now I'd most likely switch to EMG 35 DC in both positions, that should sound good.

Get a ReBop! They're beyond a doubt incredible! Mine has the stock HZ in it and sounds just great. Very versatile too! The first time I took it band practice, everyone was like "WOAH! That sounds so much better than your Warwick!" Hehe, but of course it does :D

They're very well built basses, light and moveable but with such a solid tone. :)

I second this! It's by far my best sounding & playing bass.
I can't wait to get it back with its new truss rod!!

Dude, I read about your troubles with that, I fully hope that you get it back in perfect playing order and that it doesn't cost a lot! These basses need to be played!
