^This^ a hardshell case from Spector would probably be cheaper anyways

I have two single and one dual bass mono bags. All my active basses sit in stands at home and are transported in gig bags.

I use HSC's to store basses I no longer play (of which there is one, a Modulus I stopped playing when I bought my first Spector but have too much history with to sell) or basses waiting to be sold.

Now I can walk into a club with two Spectors on my back and my full bass rig on a hand truck. Everything in one trip. :D

Exactly. Mono bags are killer, nearly the same protection as a hard shell with much more functionally.

They are the only thing my basses travel in anymore, great for flight dates as well...that way they can fly in an overhead bin or coat closet and I never have to check them ;)

Just curious. With all the size restrictions on flights these days for carry on, how do you arrange to put your bass in the overhead or coat closet?

The FAA passed some sort of new regulation in the last year or two allowing instruments in soft cases to be carried on without a hassle; the size restriction on regular, rectangular carry on bags is to make sure that they'll actually fit in the compartment at all.

Even on packed flights I've never have an issue finding space for a gig-bag in an overhead, but occasionally I'll leave it in the front closet if there is room just to make for easier boarding and disembarking.

That's cool. Not that I fly with my bass, but good to know. My touring days were spent in cars, trucks, and vans.

got a call from my old salsa band director on my way home from work tonight...had a great conversation and it looks like I'll be sitting in with the band tomorrow during to kick off a fund raising gig/clinic with Joe Lala, a legendary latin percussionist/actor who is battling cancer.

Should be a fun time for a great cause! I'm excited to play with people again and stoked to debut the fretless in a live setting! :D

Wish I could. I work at a National Lab in a secure area. No deliveries. :bawl: Just have to wait. Most of the time they don't get out to my house until I get home anyway.

I kind of went crazy when Iris was on the way, took the day off and it didn't show up until 6:00pm that evening. I was running up to the window when I heard a truck engine and I should have called them and just went and picked it up! Later in the day I was getting ready for practice and sat down for some dinner when the UPS truck pulled up....had a short time to fix the battery because it was disconnected and then head for practice.
