Seeking advice from you Spector veterans. I am thinking about buying a Spector Rebop 4 dlx as my second Spector aquisition. I want a Spector with dual humbuckers to complement my PJ Euro LX.
How good are the stock pickups? I have never used EMG Hz so far. Right now I'd most likely switch to EMG 35 DC in both positions, that should sound good.
Anything else to look out for with Rebops?

Great cab. You can find lighter cabs but that's secondary to tone and the DB212 has a nice mid forward tone. I use a TCE RS210 for my "lounge" pickup gigs but no more than that. But this DB212 really steps out. "In your face" rock and roll with no problem (which is what my main band does). Of course it's sweet for laid back music too.Just sit back and enjoy the tone.
It's a great match for our Spectors.
If I remember correctly, this is the actual Brownie..... meaning Rex Brown's old bass![]()

Good lord that is a lovely looking bass!
On another note, I'm playing my first gig in nearly 2 years tomorrow. A festival with an expected attendance in excess of 4000 people. Nerves? Naaaah..... I.. I swear..
It's for the bullied kids I wrote about before, it'll be a fantastic experience for sure! We had to kick the 17 year old pianist out because he was one hell of a diva, called us all unprofessional and jokes.. So we have to practice with the new pianist (who is driving 260km to play one song) two hours before the gig. Stress? Naaahhh.... I.. I again swear...
So I have packed up my Euro in its soft/hard case (TKL thing) along with a DI box, my wireless sender/receiver, a patch cable, spare batteries, an instrument lead, spare strings, strap, ear plugs, and brand new wristbands. Managed to get it all into the case, pretty impressed with that! Not taking a rig as the festival organizers have rented an entire backline.. Have I forgotten anything? I hope not.
Not only is a festival for the kids, it's also my introduction into the session musician world of East Norway, so I want to turn up prepared (like I usually try to be) and be well received.. I hope it goes well!![]()

You'll nail it Kyle. I got faith.![]()
Just remember if they have other wireless units running be prepaired to switch your unit to another channel (if it can) or bring a cord, I would think that they will have the back line running a DI but its good that you have a back-up plan! What are you calling an instrument lead...is that a cord?
Unless you use a crowbar and THAT ain't going to happen. Sending back to Amazon.com. For your information...I purchased a Protec Contego Bass guitar gig bag for my Coda 5XL DLX, won't fit.Unless you use a crowbar and THAT ain't going to happen. Sending back to Amazon.com.
Guess ill save up for a Mono gig bag from BSO. (Come on winning lotto ticket)
Wait, a US custom-made bass didn't come with a case?
