It's funny because this actually started out in life as a trans-black finish. Under the bridge you can see the color combo written and it has a different serial # than what's on the neck. Spector in the early/mid 90's had a hard time with some of the trans-stain finishes and over time and the elements this turned brown, hence the nickname.
Doug Wimbish's NS5 J/J had the same thing happen if you check out his Rig Rundown video. His was from the Kramer era but even in '94 I guess that was still a problem lol. Anyway, it's cool knowing this color just "happened" and even though I rarely take her out live anymore for various reasons, I always get comments on her.

I got my Zoom B3 in yesterday and messed with it last night at practice. It really is a fun pedal, great modulation and the MXR DI+ modeler is spot on. I'm really impressed with the quality of the effects. I've never tried any Zoom products, so far it is good.

My new amp is out for delivery (a day after practice, errr) but I'll get to use it Saturday and maybe go down tomorrow to jam.

I agree, made a few minor modifications and the rest has been me learning how to play my basses or attack them differently.

To add a little to what has already been said here...Spector's active pre-amps/EMG pickups are highly articulate. I am one that likes my neck flat with minimum string/Extremely low action. I definitely keep my finger playing very clean and mute the other strings. I play a Coda 5XL DLX which has a big radius fingerboard.

This is correct. I try to mimic the sounds within the song even if it has been recorded with the sloppy sound (Geddy has some sloppyness in his isolated tracks)....so we fine tuned the bass for those textures!

I agree and it has been nice to have the flexability to manage sound textures when covering over 40 of them during a show, the NS2 covers them all except for the fretless tunes.

Yes, I tried it as a head just out of curiosity and was surprized how ridiculously loud this combination turned out to be... I know that I need a proper head with this NY604 cab, I've just sold my Little Mark 250 and now looking for used Markbass F1 head as they are discontinued now. I use my Micromark801 as a home practice amp and it proved to be nice and loud for its purpose but I always wanted to check what its 60 Watt will sound like if I use an extension cab with it. And I was really astonished by this test. This tiny cube may be quite impressive in terms of volume and tone.

That's interesting about the multi-effects processor...I've always ignored them and prefered pedals but I noticed my guitarist uses this processor a lot. Actually now he switched to processor from pedals completely. Now I see it may be worth trying.

I just saw this on Rex's FB page, and the first one is an interview about just what's been up in his life lately (check the spalted maple NS-4H2 JJ!), and the second is some clinic work. I'm glad he's finally doing one of these. As he talked about in the first video he's never done a clinic and hope he does one in TX sometime and I'll be there first row!

His white Euro through that Hartke rig sounds pretty killer, I gotta say. Very spanky but just goes to show Rex always sounds like Rex no matter what. He's just the master.

ya back when I was a gigging guitard... 3-4 shows a week, I had 2 rigs. An awesome pedal board with tons of analog and boutique pedals and my 2nd rig was a processor (Boss GT6 for most of it). People never knew and always complimented my tone lol. Its worth especially to experiment with new tones and effects. IMHO

needless to say I was a bit scared to open it.... The amp seems ok, One of the rack tabs in the back is a little bent. Sounds good through my little practice rig with my NS2000/5

I have the B2.1u with the expression pedal. I haven't messed with creating my own patches, but the presets are pretty sweet.
