Man, I have to ask. For those of you with multiple USA Spectors (or Euros), what do you do for work? lol I think I need a career change!

I am a special ed teacher, have multiple children, work a second job, and even when i was in a signed original band, kept a cover band around to get 100-200 a night........gear fund my friend, make one, if you don't have a second job, get one.
That's how sometimes you afford that which you desire![]()

Very nice variation in colors, I like the orange bass...what color do they call that one?
OK....who's Jen?!?!!!
Whew!
no firesale here, but man, I am impatient. You need to work on your patience Donny. LOL
As soon as my NS-5XL gets here I'll be putting my Euro5LX up for sale too. But like we were talking about in the previous thread, I won't "firesale" it. I'll just sit and wait. Of course any of you guys are free to PM me for the "club" price on anything I have up for sale.![]()
I've been in IT for a while and currently work as a consultant. I got on a team that had some financial benefits I wasn't expecting so that's basically where most of the cash I used for my US builds this year came from. Plus we refinanced this year and I saved myself a lot of money per month doing that, so I struck while the iron was hot.![]()
It's really a double-edged sword though. Sure I do fairly well financially, but there is a lot of stress involved with the work I do, and it requires occasional 24/7 pager duty and overnight work to do software deployments, so it can be pretty invasive to my personal time. There are times I wished I was still throwing boxes around at UPS - at least that work doesn't follow you home.

This is why I have an NS2A.Much respect for you guys who can afford them. I have no envy or anything bad to say for people who rock the incredible gear. You guys work hard for it and at least I can see the sweet pictures....I see a lot of people (not in the Spector group) hate on people with nice equipment. If I see a nice Spector, my 1st thought is good for you, now go rock that thing.

I work as an Engineer but to tell the truth I always fill up the calender with shows and build up the funds.

Thanks for answers, guys. Much appreciated.I'm with bunk, I'm a unix sys admin and I consult with a large company at the moment... although I only splurge when I need something. and I do a lot of trading.
Anyone have experience with ordering off-the-wall custom stuff from Spector? I'm wondering if they'd even consider doing a US-built ReBop style bass.
Cool, thanks! But did you have to learn different fingering positions for compound cords strumming on your guitar? As standard finger patterns wouldn't work for the changed tuning.

Do you refer to a bolt on neck but with the more rounded body?
I can't think of anything on a Rebop that can't be done on a US build. What did you have in mind specifically?
I am thinking of trading in my NS2A for a rebop at the moment..
