Helps to post a link. Makes it easier for us to GAS.
Two Tom Petty tribute band gigs this month. One next Saturday, one the following. The Euro Wimbish will get the nod at one of them, my Darkstar Glaub at the other.
Heading out for the show, Jeff have a great one with Brownie
Should be ready this week. Been a long time coming. Old School Euro. Solid maple wings, solid brass bridge. It's going to be Walnut stain not gloss. Though I love JohnsonABQ's gloss walnut stain. This one's going to be matte with black hardware. This picture doesn't show it, but the bass has some US quality quilt. I'm not talking AAAAA, probably more like AAA. I had the neck shaved down too, while it was naked. Most of you would probably find it too thin. I gots stubby fingers. Ha
Thanks, "break a leg" Carey!
+1 This was the first thing I thought. Lethal is the word.
Yeah, my regular Sunday morning gig Knock their socks off Torn!
Wow, this gig tonight is a pickup for someone I don't play with much. Been working all afternoon learning new songs.
This Tascam GB-10 is a life saver, but my brain is still going into overload!
That's awesome Ho, I know that bass is going to look sweet when it's finished and Chris is the man!! You getting Phil to Plek it also?
Slow Saturday night here - everyone is out gigging their Spectors!
I'm at a monumental show - the 30th anniversary show for punk legends Antiseen. Opening for them are The Hookers and The Meatmen.
I just snapped a photo with the legendary Tesco Vee of The Meatmen - I can die a happy man!
So I got my M6 in the other day and was dialing in Brownie on it (even though I don't play her out anymore) but honestly it sounds best with everything flat on the amp save the Mids which are about 10:00, and I have it on the "5" Voice setting which is a wide band Mids boost. With the EQ knob for Mids at noon it's too much but when you cut em it's a nice compromise.
Oh also, I've fallen in love with the Deep switch- can't believe I've never used that before!
I am going to have to spec a custom Euro here soon I think: 35" scale with the shaved neck, green stain, black hardware, Bart P/J setup and Bart 2 band pre. Thoughts?
Wow, Antiseen ... I haven't kept up with them in a while, but I used to collect and trade some of that southern scumpunk on vinyl. Great snapshot!
Heck yeah, might as well go whole hog!
Can't wait to see it when it is done. Sorry, but that case of Shiner Bock in the background is totally distracting me ;-) I love that beer, LOL.
No such thing as a neck being too thin! My favorite neck on a bass is less than 3/4" from back to front!
However, I have no idea how it doesn't snap like a twig with the lower 4 strings from a 5-string set tuned to C.
No gigs this weekend, not until November 29th.
Well well welll....an hour ago I became a FATHER for the second time))) Now I have two sons - a boys-band))
Congratulations!!!! What's his name? Spector?
