I'm really happy with my two mbe 210 cabs. I've had them a couple years and have used them with AMpeg,Aguilar , genz benz, and an MB fusion. I'm currently using an MB800, and an MB200 for practice.
I don't use a ton of super low in my eqing. I got a really nice tight bottom and really good mids and highs. ( I have the horns turned off on both cabs).
Mine are the original mbe's (not the II), and I only paid $299 each for them. I think that was a steal! And he MBE II's hav several functional changes and a real cool look. Still a great deal at $399 IMO ...

I try not to run a ton of lows either. Thats why I like my 800RB over the 1001RB. The lows are rolled off at 80HZ. Great for keeping away the mud and making it punchy. Even better through a sealed cab.
Yeah, in a perfect world there'd be a sealed cab under 40lbs. I prefer the sealed cab sound as well.

I feel dumb for not even looking at what I asked about. 210 must be sealed as well in that case?

What's the point to a sealed 2x10? The whole point to compartmenting and sealing cabinets is to stop air flow between speaker pairs, right?
First impressions of Spector + Ampeg V-4B = TUBE IS LOUD oh god yes! 
Sounded great, but the 200w speaker I was putting the 100w of tube through could barely handle the Ampeg turned up to about 1/3 of the volume, I'm impressed how far 100 watts gets with this amp!
Sadly my 400w cabinet, and old Sunn 1x15, is still in the shop (it was supposed to be done last week, but when you get someone so good they tour with Aerosmith working on it, you don't rush them!) so I can't really push this baby through its paces and see what its got until I get that cabinet back, or risk exploding this cabinet I'm using right now.
Also I'm amazed how well the previous owner took care of it, the thing looks almost new but it was made sometime between 1976 and 79!

I'm buying a Spector bass from a local music shop soon, and it's being sold as a Legend 5. BUT, I'm convinced it is in fact a Legend 5 CUSTOM. It looks exactly like the third one along here Link Removed
And it has EMG-HZ pickups and a set neck.
Am I right? I'm buying it for £649, which is pretty cheap if it is what I think it is.
And also, how does the Legend 5 custom compare to the Rebop 5DLX? They're in similar price brackets.

This is why I built my fEARful 12/6. Mine was a Goliath II. Not a bad cab, but heavy as hell. My 12/6 could keep up with it, when I added the 12/sub it buried it. I probably would have kept the SWR if I never had to move it again.

The ReBop's not in the price bracket as the Legend 5 Custom. It's a Euro-made step up, IMO. Translating that price, that Legend's expensive! $1090.53. CAD I can buy a brand new Legend Custom MK-5 for $1100 from a 1-off dealer in my area, and they're more expensive than the Legend Customs. Are you buying new?? Yes, it is a Legend Custom, though. Set neck's the give away. ReBops go for closer to $1500-1600.
Yeah, I'm buying new. I was just checking prices on google and the Legend 5 Custom is being sold new for about £940. On Thomann, the Rebop is going for about the same. Hmm.
I too have an mb800 and the neo 410. It's pretty loud for such a small set up. Last gig we played outdoors, I hardly was even on in foh and it was plenty loud. Mind you I had the gain on 60% and the master at 25%. And I'm running 8 ohms. The neo 410 can get boomy, but I can keep my bass down on the control knob. I run that about 60% and treble about 60%. I get a really killer tone
One of the original bands I play with incorporates an extra heavy rendition of 'Stinkfist' into most of our sets...same as the album, except instead of the 16th note hi-hat figure on the intro/main vamp the drummer plays 8ths on the crash with a quarter note accent...never fails to get the crowd bouncing a la Rage Against the Machine
Sweet. It seems like I play the song a little different than some on here I'm sure, but I've listened to Justin's line really closely and I've kept it as close to him as possible. With the exception of the mellow bridge in the middle. I use the same run, just time it differently. It flows better for me
I'll have to give my drummer that idea on it to see how it sounds next time rehearse. I bet it slams.

I got my first taste of Tubes with my 2005 Ampeg V4BH (needed lots of work and was quite costly but WELL worth it), and now my stage amp is my Mesa 400 (non plus). These tube amps just sound so full compared to my old SS amps that I really loved back in their day.
I find that my V4BH is short on power through an 8 ohm cab (I gig a big 4 ohm so this isn't an issue for me) though if I run a preamp through it (Aggy Tonehammer in my case) I can really push the amp and get a nice big sound coming through the cab.
The only issue I've really had with tube amps thus far is that they just make you want more tube amps!

I'll admit, I bought my V4BH oh a whim and was pretty upset to get nailed with a $300 repair bill, but I know I take care of my amps and know that these tubes will have a long life ahead of them. My tech looked the amp over and fixed a lot of stuff I didn't even know about to eliminate the risk of bigger issues coming up down the line.
My Mesa hasn't seen a tech since I bought it but only had one owner. The fan doesnt run on high while running an 8 ohm cab (a little odd) and I know that when the time comes I'll probably have to drop about $200 to fix whatever the issue is + new tubes maybe. I also know this amp isn't going anywhere until my back cant lift it anymore
I think a lot of people that have issues with their tube amps either bought an amp that was damaged that they didn't know about or it's getting roughed around during load in/load out. I can't see why one of these amps will have any more issues then a regular SS amp would, but when buying a used tube amp you should always consider in the cost of a tech visit, just in case. Heck, even bring the amp to the tech and split the bill with the seller if possible, then you know 100% your amp is ready to go.
