Thanks, she was a rare ReBop for sure, it was fun to play but when my Coda 5XL showed, no more 4 strings in my arsenal.

I'm happy with the BQC I've put in...now if only the shop would finish the truss rod removal so I can find out how long it is and order a new one!!!

Lol:D The only thing that I've done with the Scott bass lessons is to arrange them in order I want to go thru them. Been VERY busy lately:ninja: Our lead in my SGHOP band went to a conference out in K.C., MO at the I.H.O.P.KC and sent a list of new songs for us to learn. :eek: lol I love it though...challenge! Practice tonight for Sunday morning...Thur. guitar lesson for Fire & Ice ;) starting back up...Friday I might be going to a music studio that a guy wants me for bass on a new project he has going...Sat. is for Fire & Ice time, lol :D...Then Sunday it starts all over again! Hahaha I'm glad that I'm retired!?!? :eek:

They were down as low as I could get them, yeah. lol It's funny, the pickup cavities on the ReBop aren't very deep, & the neck sits higher up than a Euro/US. I'll probably shim the bridge up a few mm. The saddles on my 'bop are raised so high up, just to get low action. :S

I know! He has a back log of repairs to do, and my bass hasn't even been touched. I've been calling him AT LEAST once a week to see if he's even begun on it, and it's still sitting in the corner with his other WIPs. -_-

I'm starting to get annoyed & wish there were other luthiers in town that I know could do a good job on it. Well, there is 1 other good guy in town but he charges through the nose. Wanted to charge me $150 to put a bone nut on a $100 Epi T-bird. Didn't even give me the option of a Graphtec or Corian. -_- Needless to say, I took the bass back and put my own nut on. (I used an old set of round wounds to file out the nut slots. ^_^)

My band plays Sober, and three of us have an acoustic spin-off band that does the acoustic version of Sober that Staind performed. People like them both, in different contexts / environments, of course.

I like my pf500 though every time I turn it on I wonder if I'm going to be another ampeg statistic. So far so good, though. I like the sound but have thought several times about selling the rug and going with Aguilar instead.

The first/second run of PF series were the problem series. I had to have the board swapped on my PF-500. Since then, it's been super solid. One key to prolonging it is not overdriving the gain stage. Crank your master and use your gain to control your volume output. This will give the power amp the headroom it wants and allow you to keep the sensitive pre-amp (which is the common problem area) at a safer level.

I can't say enough good things about my Aguilar DB750, especially after the NOS Telefunken/Amperex tube upgrade...the amount of headroom the power section has is truly obscene, and the preamp tone after the upgrade is on the level of high end studio gear...the warmth, clarity, depth and harmonic content are all just outstanding :D

Knowing we have quite a few Spector/GK users in the group, once I've got my second Euro, next priority is to get a micro amp/cab (or at least a micro cab). I already like the MB Fusion head, has anyone here paired it with the 210 MBE-II cab? I tend to not like the boominess of 12s, prefer the punch of 10s, love that it's under 30lbs. Just wondering, if they sell for $399 new, if they're a decent sounding cab? Low price point worries me a bit.

One of the original bands I play with incorporates an extra heavy rendition of 'Stinkfist' into most of our sets...same as the album, except instead of the 16th note hi-hat figure on the intro/main vamp the drummer plays 8ths on the crash with a quarter note accent...never fails to get the crowd bouncing a la Rage Against the Machine :bassist:

The DB750 is my favorite amp I've never owned lol. I had an AG500 for a while through a Berg NV425 for a while and man that was a sweet sounding setup.

I have an SVP Pro pre that I bought 10 years ago and only used it while my Trace Elliot pre was being fixed. When I got the TE back I popped it on a shelf. I'm going to get it down and test it out (it looks great) and if fully functional, I'm going to sell it. If anyone is interested let me know.

I tried a TH500 DB212 combo but I just couldn't get next to the TH500. I'm keeping the DB212 though, great cab! I'd love to try the new DB751 but it's just too much for the places I'm playing (bulky too). You've heard the tone I got from a TCE RH450 so I just got an RH750 to pair with the DB212 and that gives me tone for days.

Back in the day I think a DB751 and two DB212s would've rocked! (when I was playing huge clubs and had roadies LOL)

I played guitar in a cover band, Our bass player had a PF300 (350?) The tone was great but the first show he used it for it died half way through the first song.

Ive never tried the 210 cab but I have the 212 and its a good sounding cab. Only 54lbs too. Ive been told the 410s are actually tuned lower then the 212s

I had 2 410 mbe cabs (1st version) they sounded good, not great. not boomy and not super loud either. the 410NEO cab is very boomy in my opinion.

I have the GK MBE 210 combo and LOVE it. Great for small venue work and does a fair job of mimicking the SVT tone of my big rig. It's not as dark as my Ashdown 210 combo but does have more punch and a little more headroom. Its very light and easy to haul in and out. Plays well with all my Spectors. Had it for about 2 years now with no problems.
