I had my 400+ since the late 80's and only replaced tubes when one went bad and probably replaced 8 tubes the whole time I owned it. Just got rid of it last year. The second one I bought new in 2004 and never did anything to it. Sold that last year also.

I also know this amp isn't going anywhere until my back cant lift it anymore :p

I think a lot of people that have issues with their tube amps either bought an amp that was damaged that they didn't know about or it's getting roughed around during load in/load out. I can't see why one of these amps will have any more issues then a regular SS amp would, but when buying a used tube amp you should always consider in the cost of a tech visit, just in case. Heck, even bring the amp to the tech and split the bill with the seller if possible, then you know 100% your amp is ready to go.

I played in a band a long time ago and I didn't have my own amp. The guitarist of the band had on old Fender something something 60 w tube head. I loved it but when we were reheasing and it went kaput, I made the decision then, I wouldn't buy a tube amp. He went on and on about how much it was going to cost, etc. And I was only 15 years old at the time. lol. If he was complaining and giving me ideas of costs, I knew it wasnt for me. Not to mention, that was in the early 90's. :ninja:

yup they are sealed, super punchy cabs :)

So I was messing with my zoom B3 and garageband. I thought I would attempt to record a little and see what I came up with. I cut the bass from teh studio recording of our song "Get You Nowhere" and tracked my bass... one take, its not perfect and its straight bass no EQ. This is Jade. Hope you enjoy it...

Howdy fellas! I just picked up an Aguilar OBP-2 from the classifieds and I'm thinking about installing it in Spalty. It's the OBP-2TK, so it has the bass and treble pots already prewired. The bass has the tone pump in it. So my questions are:
1) I want to have a blend and a volume. Where can I buy a blend pot and what's the best kind?
2) Can I use one of the existing volume pots from the tone pump?

I've never done an install like this myself, just EMG with quick connects. Any other tips would be appreciated!

Crappy cell phone picture. Does not do it justice. In person, it looks phenomenal. The neck was shaved down to an ultra thin traditional profile. One big reason why I favor the matte finish is the way the neck feels. Smoooooth! Tomorrow it gets a 9v preamp and a setup. The bass is a 2001 euro-4. The bridge is the original solid brass type. I had it powder coated, added some Gotoh GB-7 tuning machines. Il post some better shots tomorrow after it's strung up.
