WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW! Honestly! That's got to be one of the sexiest refins I've ever seen dude! It's so much like the Wenge neck NS-2 and NS-4 that were made.

THAT'S SUCH A SWEET BASS!!!! LOL. I keep looking at it and it's hurting my mind! :eek:

I dusted off my 5-guitar Hercules floor stand... I love this stand BUT it has such a large footprint.

I sent all of my Ultimate Stands back to Woodstock... LOL. I guess I should say I sent all of Stuart's Ultimate Stands back to NY. They need them for BPL and NAMM. I'd been storing them the last 3 years since BPL and NAMM are just a few miles down the road from where I live.

I've ordered two Ultimate Stands because they make amazing stands for bass photos. And I have two more USA Spectors on the way.

ETA update from PJ yesterday was the "Steel Monster" will be finished before the end of the year. And my ARC6 "The Cherry Bomb" - doesn't have an ETA because it'll have a Floyd Rose bridge and Stuart is having to completely redesign the thickness of the ARC6 to accommodate the Floyd's inner workings. So it could be a month, or several... I've been waiting on it for almost 2 years now... LOL. But it'll be the first ARC6 with a Floyd. So it's worth the wait.

So I'll eventually need those two stands anyway. :D

Coming from the owner of the "Blue Dream" that means a lot. The "Steel Monster"is a neck through with an MM pickup and a US 9v?

The band I just joined has one of those old school tubular Ampeg V4s at the practice space for me to use coming through a 4x10. Totally spoils me soundwise :eek: (Isn't that a guitar amp?)
Then when I come home and plug in or tinker with the SSs at GC, my tones are lacking :hmm:
They literally are worth their weight!

Yes... except it's actually classified as an NS-4MM. It'll have an Aguilar OBP-3 @ 18v. Not the 9v. With that single MM I really wanted the extra headroom and the 3rd band.

And you know why I name all of my basses right? :D

I had a conversation with Stuart a couple of years ago at dinner... talking about serial numbers and stuff. And we talked about Antonio Stradivari, the maker of the famous Stradivarius instruments.

Back then no one knew what a serial number was. Each Stradivarius has a proper name, like a person. I suggested that he could do a series of basses with proper names instead of serial numbers. That way they'd be one-of-a-kind, each like an individual. He laughed and said, "Groovy idea but nah!"

He started working on "The Black Pearl" for me shortly after that. And all through the build we would refer to it as "The Black Pearl"... Then when I finally got it and opened the case... I just stared at it. I swear. I didn't take it out of the case for at least 30 minutes.

It was the most beautiful bass I'd ever seen. And once I took it out of the case it would be like being born.

Imagine my surprise when I flipped it around to look and see what the serial number was and instead I saw, "The Black Pearl" written across the headstock.

I was blown away. Stuart doesn't normally do custom signatures. And each bass he's made for me has a proper name. My collection will be completed with these last two.

I'll have 5 USA Spectors, each with a proper name. A one-of-a-kind collection.

This is why I love Spector. I've been treated so incredibly well by Stuart and PJ, Jimmy and Jo Ann, Jim and John... And the end result for my dedication to helping them is a collection unlike any other filled with many firsts... the first black mop inlays... the first ARC6 with crown inlays and a Floyd rose bridge... the first neck-thru 4-string single MM bass... the first cobalt-blue burst finish Doug Wimbish with J/J pups and chrome hardware... and the last Water Cured Redwood Spector (from that original log Stuart purchased).

I'm going to create some amazing Spector Porn when these last 2 guitars arrive.

And I still have one more stock gloss black NS-2 coming. LOL. But it doesn't have a name.

Wicked! I had never seen the signature on that bass. Thats a huge compliment. It deserves it, as it truly is one of a kind.

I've never really shown it. I mean anyone who has visited me and played it has seen it.

For a long time I didn't show it because I was afraid people would start asking Stuart for custom signatures. And I didn't want people to be upset if he said "no".

But I realize that my collection is a little different. And there's a theme to them. LOL.

Oh. My. GOD.

First of all, that's the best refinish I've ever seen, bar none; absolutely gorgeous, understated and unique.

Secondly, there is no longer a doubt in my mind that wenge will be the neck material of choice for my NS-2build...now all that's left to decide is whether to pull the trigger on that or the Coda DLX build first ;) :bassist:

Just curious...who owns the beauty pictured here?

I don't know who owns it. I wish I did. I'm sure it's punchy as heck.
