+1 on this. I went with GB7s on Swampy when I switched the hardware over to black recently as I could never managed to get ahold of the Schaller M4s in that color with the downturned screw holes. (As you're looking at the headstock from the back of the stand, the hole point 6:00, straight down). The GB7s are about as close to a direct replacement as anything you're going to find out there.

I've offered this up before, and I will again. If anyone wants to do the swapover to the ever-so-slightly-bigger Gotohs, let me know. I have a really expensive stewmac reamer that I'm happy to ship out to anyone who wants to borrow it. Or if you're local to the Boston area, just come by and I'll help you get sorted out. It's at least a two pint project. heh. :D

I can't confirm that the new Euro bridges have intonation screws yet (best ask PJ) but I can confirm the USA bridges won't fit a Euro. Sorry.

That's a Euro bridge. The US-made ones have the re-positioned saddle height screws both on the front of the saddle, if I'm not mistaken. I know the first run of intonation screw US bridges had them in the standard spots, though.

That being said, the intonation screw Euro bridges aren't on the site anymore. That picture's wrong. :( There was a run of them last year, I REALLY should have jumped on one for my ReBop when I had the chance, but there doesn't appear to be any more of them. I hope they make that a standard change to all Spectors in the future!!

I never understood why they didn't make a total line switch for the Euro and USA basses some time ago with a more "standard" design for the bridges. I mean, I have a tech who sets up my basses but still, I never could get the traditional bridge design "just" right on the old style.

Hey guys. I'm looking for a truss rod nut for my Spector NS95. I sent an email to the support group and they told me that it was likely a 4mm nut and any "standard truss rod nut would fit along with some links to the allparts and stewmac home pages.

Here's the difficulty... at both sites all I see are Fender bullet type nuts and I'm very skeptical that these will fit. Does anyone know anywhere where I can find a sure fit for the NS95?

Ha! Should've looked at Mr. Brownstone. The height screws are both in the front.

Too bad you can't get those Euro bridges any more. Just another reminder that Spector may make the best basses around, but they're still a small company.

So I know I'm pretty light on the Spector front with just one (although it's awesome and a piece of rock history! :bassist:), but I just sent Todd an email with these stats:

Coral reef matte
BEM with black pearl inlays
black HW
EMG P/J 5 string set
USA 9V preamp

Excited to hear back. I'm just waiting to see what, if any, price point there will be on it as an NS5 w/ the standard 34" scale or the NS5XL with the 35" scale, as I'd prefer the latter. However, that Purple Daze finish is really growing on me... I've seen Phil Collen's Jacksons with that finish and it's very very nice.
