They're starting to push those Aggie pups to match the OBP-2.

Cool! I wish the Aguilar PJ set would have fit in my Euro 4LX. However, it was too tight and I just did not want to widen the route after it was already refinished. I thought it would be cool to have one of my Spectors have that different flavor.

I think the Aggie pickups and pre are an attempt to expand their market outside of those who want the trademark SPECTOR sound, and want a beautifully crafted bass that gets closer to "their" sound.

I have a Spector with Dimarzios for that old pre-EMG Brooklyn Spector growl without the bite of the EMGs, and another with flats and SGD Neo3's to get all the great old school passive tones I need. I'm starting to thin down my herd, so Spectors with non-EMG pickups are starting to replace the basses I'm selling off, to get those tones that the EMGs don't do.

Hey guys, we got our new music video done. I'm really stoked about it, I can't share the actual link because it is being premiered with a magazine (online) but I uploaded it to my personal page (low quality) so you guys can get a look the day before our release. Please don't share this on any social media. I hope you all enjoy it.

I shaved the side of my EMG 40Js down at the base to fit my routes. They're wider at the bottom than at the top. Saved me having to widen the routes.

Got a bit of time to play with the Kilo. It sounds really good. The compressor and graphic eq make the amp in my opinion. I settled on setting the 3 band flat. Its got a fender tone stack so its set at bass 2, Mids 10, Treble 10. The overdrive I brought in around 4. Just enough to give it some edge without sounding distorted. Compressor is set around 5. Gain I brought up till the clip light flickers.

The Graphic eq I cut some bass out at 30HZ because that low is useless. 60hz if flat and its pretty much a frown from there with a slight dip around 500hz.

A few things I notice. I dont have to pad the input on the Kilo like I do on my GKs. The volume on this things goes from kinda quite at 5 to blowing out windows on 6 but compression, the level on the eq and gain all effect volume.

I also ended up roll the neck pickup down on my CRFM.

Speaking of tube amps, here is the Forte with my V4B rig.

very cool, can't wait to see how it sits with the band.

I decided I'd try out the 18v in my Euro4.... wired it up it sounds a lot better than the HZ with it, Practice tonight so we will see.

Hey all,

Looking at buying some kind of spector in the near future. My budget is $1000 (I'm selling my SVT to pay for this) and it must meet the following criteria:

Neck Thru
EMG active pickups (Humbuckers or P/J)
Gold hardware (Unless it's a white bass)
That wonderful inlay
Haz Pre

Any ideas? I want a Euro but I would highly prefer a NS5CRFM or NS4CRFM. I don't care if it's a 4 or a 5.

Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Pills

I prefer the older NS4/5CRFM models personally but that's bc I had quite a few of em before they switched to the Euros. There were a few that just changed hands here on the Classifieds recently so keep an eye out.
No HAZ as others has said at that price but you'll still get close. Happy hunting!

So far, I'm really digging the 18v in the PJ setup Euro. I'll be curious to see what you think.

Sounds great Donny.....

jammed the Euro4 with the US 18v tonight at practice... it sounds great. My strings were half dead, but man it sounded good. I was able to get a nice high end sizzle and the low end growls amazingly. It sits in the mix a bit more than the TP. I didn't do a direct comparison but the output is softer as well.

Jade will still be my #1 but as NOLA has said, it is a very nice alternative tone. My Euro might be getting back out in the live mix.

Hello Spector family,

I am looking for my first Spector. My budget is about 700-800$ shipped, not so much, so i'd expect a nice NS2000/5 or maybe a Rebop in good shape, a 5 strings is what i'm looking for but i'd like to listen to any offer. If anyone have one and need to clear space on your asernal, pls, pm me. Thanks in advance.
