May I add...With my Coda 5XL with flats, if you roll back the treble, add bass to taste, switch to Passive, it nails that upright bass tone.
That's called the ICE tone....

Any brothers got the HPF-3 in their signal chain. Thinking this would go nice with the Spector tone.

I'm using one. But the amp I'm using already uses HPF baked in so not sure if it's doing anything. I use it to bring down the output of my basses to better play with my pedal board. Plus I can dial out any boominess from hollow stages and such.

I am wondering if there are any Spector NS-95 users out there and wondering what strings will fit this bass. Looks like they need to be 36 to 36 1/2 inches or so from the ball to the end of the windings , not much room for variation.

Me too. When I finally have the money for a custom build, I'm getting a 5-er P/J!
Quick! What kind is this? Sounds nice, one knob doesn't work, another is missing a cap. Price is 379. Says Czech Republic on back of headstock.
Sweet. Maybe after both of my kids are out of college I'll get one. First one is in her second year and the second one will be going in year after next.
Any reg long scale strings will work ( std stuff in the stores) if you like more bite n clank go with steels ( I use rotosound a and blue steels). For less clank go with nickels. Lots here like different brands. I've found my different spectors sound different with different brands the rotos work great on my dougie, not so much on my ns2a and vice versa.
