So this week was Greg Lake's (ELP) birthday and there's this pic of him on ELP's FB page holding a Spector... never knew he played a Spector!

Good question, Sam. I had to troll back through my PMs but it looks like I procured it from Guygrooves back in February 2012. That lovely was the Spector gateway drug for me.

Shortly after that you bought my Forte 4...Gateway to USA Spectors

Almost. I probably should to be on the safe side. But being so close to the show this Saturday, I don't want to jinx it. I noticed a little buzzing on the 8th fret on the "a". Other than that, everything else is good

I like the feel. I dig pretty hard so that'll be a good thing for me! Especially in the moment. When I'm getting into it, I dig really hard and don't realize I am. It's one of those "I have to be conscience of it" to not dig so hard.

I had that recently on the D string after changing string types, a slight raise on the saddle was the ticket.

I hear ya on getting into the moment and not realizing you're playing really aggressive! Happens to most of us.

Now you make sure you let me know when you've grown tired of that Brooklyn.

My Dad was born in Brooklyn. I think he's looking down wondering why I don't have one. LOL (That's the best excuse I can think of. Think my wife will buy it?)

If you have crocodile tears streaming down your face...maybe.

I had a buzz on the A string as well it was at the C, we decided to lift that string a little when I was at the Guitar House because Todd noticed my playing technique and made that suggestion rather than add relief to the neck....I think I was playing Lincoln Brewster Salvation is Here and that has a sloppy, aggressive bass tone.


I do try to keep the songs dynamics so I understand what your saying and when I said that I dig into the string it will be when the recording has that texture/sound...you know, sometimes they just want that sloppy bass tone happening! lol

Ok. It's done. Minimal adjustment I can't wait to hear it loud. Man that .110 is going to be a beefy monster. I feel sorry for the guitards.

Hey gang,
Forgot about the whole club discount thing.

I'll knock off $100 and include a black Hipshot GB7 D-tuner I had forgotten I had here. It matches the tuners on the bass perfectly.

This guy got me started on the whole "piano string" sound on the bass when I saw them at MSG in '73 on the Brain Salad Surgery tour.

Sorry I haven't been around much but just heard about your health issues and having to sell your Forte and Coda for medical bills. Man that sucks, but I understand you gotta do what you "gotta do". Hopefully they'll get moved for you and you'll be back in the black! Here's to hoping your recovery's going well.

oh sure, Greg's put on a few or 20, but who hasn't? Once you reach a certain age, it's almost inevitable.

So, got to crank the new Euro through my BT500H/WAN 212 rig last night. That bass with the Orange head make a lethal combination - in a good way of course. If I could find a lightweight sealed 410 (thinking the GKs that have been discussed here recently) I might not even need a new micro head, though I do really like the extra high end detail the Fusion provides.

I've been wanting to try a Orange head. One of the few I haven't had a chance to plug into.

So very, very true. Once on the Spector road, I started gaining speed quickly.
