Many here like the BQC because of it's added sweepable mid control.

I put the OBP-3 in my old Euro but never really used the mid control so I would've been better suited with the OBP-2.

PS... Good luck getting anyone to part with a US 9v.

He's referring to another bass he has. Though, I wasn't aware of a BQC without mid control.

I'm not positive, but I don't think the Tonepump would be at 'flat' using pots with center detents, plus I'm not sure of the values of the pots themselves.

Per the pre-amp manufacturer, the specs are:

Bass: +14dB/-4dB @55Hz
Treble: +14dB/-12dB @6,5kHz

Bass would definitely be boosted, Treble might be near flat, but would likely have 1db of boost as well.

I'm in the same boat with my Black Cherry Euro. Have a potential trade on the table right now but if it sells for cash there are two US made basses club members are selling, and I'd love to be the next owner of either of them.

So many Spectors for sale in the classifieds and most of them are priced below market value. It's a good time to be a buyer I think!

Well I finally got to play my ,new to me again, jar through the big rig with full band.

The Jar now has a tone pump installed. I don't know where it trim is set, but it sounds great. I used it the entire set, and even with Spector Nickels Medium strings down tuned to drop C# it sounded great. The bottom end is very tight and the TP lets it get huge if you want. I like a tight low end without getting too big.

The dual Jazz pups are something special, and definitely react to the effects more clear. My chorus just screams with this bass. I'm a happy camper that is for sure.

I'm looking forward to breaking in my new JAR on some heavy rock gigs tomorrow and Saturday; depending on how the EMG's react with my various drive pedals I may still end up swapping them out for an Aggie set

oh sure, Greg's put on a few or 20, but who hasn't? Once you reach a certain age, it's almost inevitable.

Also, is anyone looking to sell one of their tonepumps or OBP's at the moment? The BTS isn't really doing it for me.

I hear bad things about the nontrim

I found it depends on what pickup combo you use with the non-trim TP. When I had a ReBop 4DLX it had EMG35P/J pups and it sounded great with the non-trim TP.

Yes, had EMG 35P/J set in my ReBop 4DLX, sounded great!
