Wonder if it's the same bass above and that red is some light reflecting off the inlays/logo?

The only way I've found that active EMG's really work with the BDDI at all is with the blend at about 10 o'clock or under, whereas passive pickups are usable throughout the entire blend range...I'm still usually never running the blend at 100%, as that cuts more mids than I'd like![]()
The Para Driver has the Mid Shift with a small blend next to it, is this the blend your referring to (still learning this unit)?

You guys won't believe this...don't faint now
I actually made my first purchase of ROUND WOUND STRINGS!
Jason sent emails out about new products seen at BPL, specifically the "NEW" GHS BOOMER 52's, nickel/iron alloys, $10! I couldn't resist at that price! Those are 4 string sets so I bought a single B string to go with it. These are in limited quantities right now so if you're thinking about trying them...
Can't wait to try them out on my Coda!

Okay that's cool...a lot of extras for such a small rig.The Bass Cub is very small, and as such, clips easily. It has a built-in limiter than can be turned on/off and an adjustable threshold.
If you really lay into a note to get that punchy sound, the amp will either clip, or the limiter will compress it. So, the short answer is "no", you don't get a deep/punchy sound from it. However, it has a great preamp in it with standard EQ, two input channels that has a balanced in, so you can plug a powered mic into channel 1, and run vocals and bass through it. Plus, each channel has an input level adjustment, so you can dial back the signal before it has a chance to clip, and use less of the limiter (I HATE compression).
I purchased it from a double bass player that used it for jazz gigs; he bought the PJ Flightcase and had no use for the Cub anymore. I got it specifically for the acoustic gigs; I am ordering a Warwick Alien Deluxe acoustic 5er as well. Whether I run my Spectors or the acoustic through the Cub, it'll be pretty low-key, even if I mic or run it into the P.A. direct for a gig. I would not try using this for a full-on electric gig in a bar. That's what my 600W Mesa Carbine M6 (2x12", 1x15") is for.
Other kudos for the Bass Cub: 1/4" headphone jack for private playing, AUX IN for the iPod (you can literally turn it into a headphone amp and play along with songs), balanced XLR out for direct to P.A., and an output for an additional cabinet.
That's a lot of features on a 100W amp that's smaller than a breadbox!
I'll need to withdraw thisYour right I don't believe it, what made you go and do something like that? lol
Actually I think it's cool to explore different things and these strings sound like they might be a hybrid and the nickel might help tone down the highs....you will have to report!!!!
...Jason contacted me to let me know the B52's that are on the sale price for $10 are the previous version, not the new ones with the hex core. Either I misread the email flyer or it read wrong...Either way, still a great price on those strings. But I cancelled my order and will wait on the new hex core B52's to be in stock. I'm glad Jason is on the ball and let me know. That's a COOL looking Spector!Rachel Bolan seems to have some interesting Spector's. You might want to wait on the GHS B52's until the new hex cores come out. I jumped the gun:scowl: sorrySince I'm going to place an order for the Precision Flats, I may get one of these too. Ice, what is your preference between gauges on the PFs?

I'm actually referring to the Bass Driver DI, similar unit in that it's part of the SansAmp family but with the different parameters and I'm sure at least slightly different voicing as well.

There will be a lot of difference, I mean with the way its run to the board, if we run it into the amp on the input as a stomp box or part of a patch, if we even use the line/inst. switch, etc. I'm just looking for some ideas or suggestions on what you guys have tried, it's a great pedal...but...I'm adjusting it to incorporate its sound into my live performance.
I've always felt there are certain laws of physics that need to be adhered to in order to have a useable bass rig. I do a fair amount of acoustic gigs with an Ovation guitar and vocals thru the PA and my bass is on it's own. For those gigs I've never used less than a 2x10" cab. And now I'm seriously considering the need to go to a single 15" cab instead just to get the full sound I feel is necessary.
I'm looking at a pair of GK MBE II cabs. A 2x10 and a 1x15. I'll use the 1x15 if I'm hired for the acoustic gigs and I'll use both if I'm hired for the electric gigs. The head is my RH450. Both cabs are the same dimensions and the same weight.
One thought Carey is to take the line out from your amp and use the Paradriver for your PA send (it won't be in your onstage sound). With the blend full on you bring in the SansAmp circuitry that emulates a "miked up pro stage rig". Using that and the tone controls, you can work at getting your "sound" to come out of the PA in addition to your 1820s.

Totally agree Jeff...I love using my Ampeg B-15T for that full rounded sound. My Acoustic B-20, which is a 112, does a great job also and a lot less weight. But at this time I don't do small gigs and the bass rigs are in place.I've always felt there are certain laws of physics that need to be adhered to in order to have a useable bass rig. I had the OBP 3 in my Forte 5...ordered it that way. Sounded FANTASTICSo who here has an Aggie OBP-3 with the midrange control, and how useful is it to you versus the OBP-2 ?? Am I correct in understanding that you can't cram a 3 into a Forte, anyway?
To my ears, there was a huge difference between the OBP 2 in the Forte 4 & OBP 3 in the Forte 5. I had them both at the same time so I'd did comparisons. My dollar would be on the OBP 3. Matter of fact, I tried talking PJ into installing the OBP 3 into my Coda 5XL DLX, to no avail though. I still think it could be done and I might just do that mod.

Does anyone here own a piezo-equipped bridge on an NS-2 or NS-4? I'm just curious about your impressions, tonal capabilities, that kind of thing. I know the White Whale had one but I've seen them turn up only infrequently and have never actually put my hands on one to test out.

it sure will fit.So who here has an Aggie OBP-3 with the midrange control, and how useful is it to you versus the OBP-2 ?? Am I correct in understanding that you can't cram a 3 into a Forte, anyway?
get a tone pump. IMHOMy Performer is now my only bass without a preamp. What preamp would you suggest to get a similar sound to the Spector preamp?
DUDE I hate that, but I got a great deal from GC on a NS2A because they thought it was a schecter lolWhy is everybody so quiet today? Y'all watching college football or playing your basses?
Don't you hate it when you tell someone you play Spector basses they think you are taking about SCHECTER.
