Seriously though. I get to catch up on what all my Spector Brothers have been, are and, will be doing... I like it. I have been so busy for so long....
I got Rocksmith 2014 a couple weeks ago.... then I had to spend 800 to upgrade my desktop to play a 50 dollar game... Check this.

Rocksmith didn't like my Nvidia 9500GT video card:spit:
so I went out and got an 760GTX card.
The new card doesn't fit on my mother board. :spit:
There's a power 24pin powerplug plug in the way.
Went and got new motherboard. Doesn't support my 3.2 Ghz cpu so, got a new core i5 cpu. :smug:
and I need 8 Gigs of DDR3 ram to boot.
New motherboard doesn't fit my atx case.
Got new Eleven Hundered full case....:D
installed new motherboard, CPU, 8Gb ddr3 ram, Nvidia 760GTX video card, SATA HDD and optical drives Blah blah blah right?:hyper:

Power supply has only a 4pin plug for the CPU power that NOW requires an 8pin plug:spit: to power the smarter, faster, more powerful cpu...
Ok got new power supply with 8 pin power for cpu and double 6 pins for video card:hyper:

Done ,... right? NOT!!
You can't take the brain out of one body and put it in another without problems....
Windows doesn't like all the changes and won't start up.
Had to reinstall windows and it was still updating drivers when we left on vacation 2 weeks ago!!!

All that so I can play Rocksmith with my SPECTOR bass...:help:

Oh man - sorry you had to endure this B.S.!

I'm thinking of ditching my antiquated 8-track Portastudio & going to a computer-based recording setup, so with your scenario in mind, it sounds like I may just be better off buying a dedicated laptop for music rather than trying to update my older desktop computer.

Here's my 1984 NS-2JA
This was my 1st "real" Spector I got in 1990.I sold it to a friend in the late 90's and bought it back last year.Unfortunately the neck was shot when I got it and it needed a new truss rod.Meaning the fingerboard had to come off since it didn't have the removable truss rod.Since they had to take of the fingerboard I said why not put a new one on with the 12 fret inlay. They also reinforced the neck with graphite. They did an awesome job!!!I got it back and can't put it down!!!

My Spector NS-2J and my Spector Ian Hill E4LX

And my Spector L4C

The center stripe on the 2J makes me think the neck was at least a 3-piece neck? Maybe I'm wrong.

A couple of videos, taken at a music festival in my country:

Nice! Thanks for sharing. Looks like a Kramer era NS-2? Not sure, I was looking at the bridge - and it looked really square.

So, I got a response back from Todd. I was right on my assumption of the ReBop 5DLX neck being $350 +shipping/duty/tax. :( $461 for the neck of a bass that's only worth $8-900. *sigh*

Can I ask a favor of you guys? If you see a Rebop5 or Legend5 come up for a ridiculous deal (sub-$400), can you let me know? ^_^

I bought it today for Xbox. Just (litrally) plug n play! :D My computer is for studio use only. No games, nothing else.

On a Spector note, would a brass nut ordered from Spector fi my ReBop? Not enjoying the plastic one.

It's funny you mention Rocksmith 2014 since I just picked it up and have been playing it like crazy the last few nights. It really is a great program and I am having so much fun with it. The only problem I have is when you start playing too good, it throws a tone more notes at you real quick so you have to be on your toes :)

Yes, a brass nut from Spector would definitely fit it. I am going to order a spare for mine just to have since I had to file the original one down to accommodate the .158 B string that is on there now.

I wanted to buy Rocksmith for the Xbox but my Xbox just gave me the red ring and that is my 4th one that has died on me  I refuse to buy a 5th so I will just wait and get an Xbox One sometime in the future.

You have to ask yourself, not what the bass is worth, but rather, what is it worth to you.To me,a great playing spector is worth more than any dollar amount.I hope this all works out for you, and if i had a rebop neck laying around, i would give it to you.

Yes. It would.

As for Rocksmith, I bought it on Steam, plugged in & away I went. :P

Of course, my systems a LOT newer than his was.

Yeah, I picked it up on Steam also when they had that big holiday sale. I needed to get the guitar cable though so I picked one up from Ebay which got here the other day.

I was messing around with "Knights of Cydonia" tonight and they start throwing some serious notes at you real fast which is something I need to get used to in the game a bit more. By the time you look down to make sure you have the fingering correct, you could be missing a bunch.

You won't regret upgrading your system Trace. The game is really worth it and I haven't even bought any DLC yet since there a bunch of great tunes that come with the game itself. I will most likely buy the Muse, Iron Maiden, and Pantera packs though since they all have great songs included in them.

Totally agreed with this. Sounds like you love that bass, just pour cash into it and never sell it. :)

Then I'll get on that right away :) Thanks for the info!

I have an Xbox360, bought second hand and never had a problem. I'm just lucky I guess, I've heard of a lot of Red Rings.

Very cool. Good story behind it. I was wondering how you got the single crown to match your others.
